So off the top of my head, they showed
Batman
Avengers meet disney
littlebigplanet
ratchet and clank remastered + movie
Mortal Kombat
MGS V
That origami indie game
Uncharted
GTA exclusive
Grim fandago
what else am I missing? That was a legimitately good conference. If parappa gets re-released, I will insta-buy ps4 now.
Nope absolutely horrible. Only a mindcontrolled, full fledged Sony fanboy would say this is anything more than mediocre. If its' not Nintendo exclusive, it's trash.

GTA V isn't even PS4 exclusive. They just announced it for Rockstar. Grim Fandango is timed. Batman, Destiny, MK, and Metal Gear aren't exclusive, either. In otherwords, it all comes down to exclusive games, as always, and it's about what anyone would have expected from Sony's conference.
My opinion is that The Order might as well be in theaters, I have no clue what that Grim Fandango is, Nathan Drake is already an old man somehow, remake, and Sony is making indie games look big while paying for them.
At least Microsoft showed some gameplay footage of their exclusives. The Disney figure thing isn't even that big of a deal.

I like Sony and what they bring to the table but to be completely honest they havent had a good press conference in quite some time. This year's was their best one in quite a while but it was nothing to write home about.
If you want to see what really counts, then look at the amount of games they have at E3 this year. I think its like 70+ across their 2 pieces of hardware which is a lot of variety. I have no clue what Nintendo will do and I'm hoping for the best. However there is no way they're going to match that number and that's kind of big deal.

Many of those are 3rd party games though....3rd party multiplats. So what would being a fanboy have to do with it?
Microsoft did a much better job. They showed off a ton of games which is exactly what everyone wanted to see. Sony did not really show any huge exclusive reveals. It a was decent but not the best of the night.

I suppose if you are already a Sony fan, you would have thought the E3 presentation was pretty good, but as someone who really isn't into their main franchises...I was underwhelmed.
I'm not saying it was bad.
However, there wasn't much focus on the big games coming out in the near future, and the big announcements for console exclusives seemed to be:
remakes (Ratchet and Clank, Grim Fandango)
re-releases (TLOU, GTAV).
The rest of the exclusives were timed or only console exclusive (No Man's Sky, Hulk for Disney Infinity)
or smaller indie titles (not that it's bad, but not show stoppers)
free to play games that were promised on launch and already available on Steam (Planetside)
The biggest sizzle was:
Little Big Planet 3 (not created by media molecule, so we'll see how it ends up, but it looked good)
Solid third party offerings (Mortal Kombat, Arkham Knight, Destiny, Battlefield spinoff)
The Order and Uncharted 4 (Although not much gameplay footage or details)
I was actually confused by the Playstation 3 App...I thought that was supposed to be the Vita TV...but it seemed convoluted and subscription based. I was actually hoping to get the Vita TV in North America, but I'm not really all that interested after seeing the description, I was hoping for a self contained HDMI out Vita standalone.
Speaking of the Vita...almost dead silence aside from cannibalizing the unit as a controller for PS4 and a streaming device for their PS+ service...
Now I understand there is a lot of pressure on Sony right now to deliver a big presentation between their financial woes, recent string of big delays, and to keep the momentum of the impressive PS4 launch going, but this presentation was mediocre...not bad at all, but not anything that wasn't expected. We just didn't see much gameplay footage or many unexpected announcements.
What I'm confused about, is why Sony paid to make the DI figures timed exclusive. They must really think Sony "die hards" are gonna go out and but them right away, because the Sony fans that love Uncharted, CoD, AC, Infamous, and sports games are the majority of who owns the cosnole.

Possibly as a way to throw cold water on Nintendo's NFC figure announcements...Sort of a cheap way to signal that Nintendo won't be the true "go-to" console for NFC collectible figures, or that Sony is going to compete with them on that front? I thought that was odd too, but I guess they have a deal.

I felt like Sony's press conference was just trying to take a shot at everyone. They see that Nintendo isn't getting the same 3rd party suppport, so they're like "Hey! Look! We have 3rd parties!". They did the same thing with Microsoft's DRM situation. They also realized indies were big on Wii U, so now they're paying for them. Then they go off to say that what 3rd parties they do have are better on PS4. That's up to consumers to decide, so it comes off as a bit desperate to appeal to gamers outside of Sony's "realm" of fans. This is just how I see it.
Announcing timed exclusives is great, but I don't think these will effect the bottom line, and they made abig deal out of it.

Nah...I didn't really see that at all. If anything, I think they were desperate to show something...anything...to live up to the hype they generated for the PS4 release last year in the face of a really bleak second half of 2014. Sony is excellent at marketing, and they know how to appeal to their fanbase. So really I didn't see any jabs so much as an attempt to jump up and down and say "look, look, we do that too! Look look!"...Sony is the master of copying their competition after all.
@Action51
No worries. It's just my opinion, but I agree with yours, aswell. That's why I would say they are paying for indie support, because they want to make sure PSN is full of smaller titles.
TBH, I think LBP 3 is the game they should have launched with; not f***ing Killzone. Now people are waitng for LPB, which could have easily been traded out for Killzone and probably would have appealled to a wider audience, espeically with CoD still around.. They could have even traded out Infamous for Ranchet & Clank, for example.
EDIT: Somethingg has got to give, because I highly doubt everyone wants to play AC every year, for the next 7 years, AGAIN.
@Chrono_Cross
Don't worry Chrony', Once they announce 'Wario Land Shake it 2! Bum rumble in teeki hut city' you'll be too busy trying to scoop your drool off the floor. Really though, i'd love to see Cup Head make it on to the Wii U and maybe even Mortal Kombat X
And it's developed by GoodFeel?
Now you've given me false hope! so hyped for nothing

Sony and MS's conferences were decent but nothing mindblowing(I wasn't expecting much from the get-go so I wasn't overly disappointed). LittleBigPlanet 3 looks decent. Really wish Sony would've shown more Vita stuff, it's really upsetting how poorly Sony is handling it.
I expect some folks to go into Nintendo's E3 tomorrow with their expectations set waaaaay too high and then pull the "Nintendo iz d00med" card when they didn't get exactly what they wanted.
Batman (multiplatform)

I mean cool, fair enough. I get it if people are hyped about Little Big Planet and Uncharted but other than those. Not really selling the PS4 so much, more selling the idea of buying a PS4/XBOne/PC. For me personally the one thing that made me go "wow, did not see that coming. That looks awesome" was that indie game with the procedurally generated worlds. And that's also headed to PC. The version of GTA V they showed does look nice but that's also headed to PC.
So as a PC/Wii U gamer.... meh, nothing really selling me on the idea of a PS4 here. Isn't that the whole point of it? And you're right, anyone saying these games were trash is full of it. People saying they weren't impressed though? I can see that. People saying they think the Nintendo one (where Zelda is already confirmed to be shown BTW) will impress more? Nintendo fans no less. Why wouldn't we expect that? Sony's show was middle of the road, Nintendo will have Zelda. It's a pretty simple equation.
..... and then they go "we're enabling youtube sharing later this year"
What baffles me is the fact that no one seems to realize that the Digital Event is just the beginning of Nintendo's E3 coverage. They've got the Smash Invitational and the Treehouse is where they're likely going WAY in depth on their information. Even if the Digital Event really is just 30 minutes long, they could use that for the big announcements and save the small stuff and in depth gameplay footage for the Treehouse stream that'll be going the entire time E3 is open.
