I tried and supported WB in their efforts on Wii U. I just heard Monolith is the Dev on this LOTR game. I hope Wii U gets added to the list at some point, even if it is a port. I love Monolith!
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

1. Sales for Wii U are terrible
2. 3rd party games have never done well on Nintendo consoles
Nintendo needs to throw their money around if they want to get some of these games. They also need to prove to western devs that the types of games they are making, will in fact sell well on Wii U consoles.
Really, if you want Nintendo's great 1st party games and great 3rd party support you will have to have another gaming console/machine be it one of the new consoles or a gaming PC.

I recently spent $600 on PC parts so I should be good for awhile and I will be able to get this game but when there is a 3rd party game I want on Wii U I buy it on Wii U to support 3rd Party on Wii U, in-fact there are still 1st party games I need to get because I have been supporting 3rd party so much.

I've done the same regarding the Wii U and 3rd party games. I don't know if I'd say its too support 3rd parties on Wii U as much as the Gamepad, IMO, makes the purchase better on the Wii U. Assassin's Creed, NBA 2K13, CoD, Arkham City, etc all integrated the Gamepad very well and its very hard to go back to playing without off-TV play.
Went Wii/PS3 this last gen and will probably go Wii U/PS4 this gen.
I got Batman: Arkham City. It was my first HD open world game. And I have to say: it bored the crap out of me. What happened to the good old days where you play Stage 1, beat it and move on to Stage 2? Instead I have to keep swinging around the city over and over again. Is that really what people want nowadays? And then the whole flying through rings crap. Didn't we get enough of that with Superman on the n64?
The artwork and tagline sort of just looks like the purpose of this game is to make a generic GRIMDARK actioner that takes a steamy dump all over everything Tolkien wrote and stood for.

Well its fitting its in the same universe as the films than.

I very much doubt WB will stop support for the Wii U. I would imagine the Lego series are doing fairly well and fits the demographic. I would hope for the Rocksteady Arkham, but I would say it's 50/50 if we get it.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

I think the LOTR films were well adapted, with Fellowship of the Ring being one of the best films ever made. If nothing else, they're absolute masterclass examples of film editing (the theatrical cuts are objectively better films, but the extended cuts offer more fan material and lore).
But The Hobbit is a total mess. Jackson can't decide on a tone, jumping back and forth between slapstick nonsense and brutal decapitations, throws editing and pacing completely out the window in favor of self-gratification, and misses the entire point of the book.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

You're supposed to do other stuff in between the levels, man. If you're only playing the story missions in an Open-world game, you're doing it very, very wrong.
I've never seen the movies, and played a GBA game of the series 12 years ago for only a minute, because it was horrible. I can't say I really care.
I'm pretty sure DC, Lego, and Scribblenauts is all that basically matters for Wii U, anyway.
Is anyone actually interested in this?
I am the game sounds awesome.
-Every enemy has a name, rank and memory. If you don't kill them in an encounter for whatever reason they will remember you later on and change their tactics, not only getting stronger in level but learning new immunities. Enemy dialogue changes because of your previous encounters as well.
-Enemies have their own jobs to do and their AI allows them to do certain things on their own. For example an Orc you have to kill may be dueling another at one point or he may be doing whatever his higher ranking officer assigned him to do. It all progresses in real time with or without your interference.
-If an enemy kills you in battle you don't "die" in the traditional sense. You do eventually respawn but time in the world passed (they didn't say how long). During this time the enemy that killed you was likely promoted because of him killing you or he could have been killed somehow (like losing one of the duels I mentioned above).
-If your objective is to kill a high ranking warlord you can do it in several ways. One way would be chipping away at everyone under his rank and either killing them or making them become "agents" for you which will enable you to launch ambushes on their base or possibly even assassinate the warlord by making his 2nd in command your agent. However it's not guaranteed, the 2nd in command can fail and be killed but he may have partial success as well which takes a chunk of the warlord's health away to make your battle easier.
-The combat seems like it takes cues from the Batman games. They mentioned there was a rhythm to it and you get to keep a combo multiplier going.
-It's fully open world so it has all of the stuff you'd expect. XP, skills, sidequests, random events (hell the whole game is basically a random event with that nemesis system and the AI working on their own even when enemies aren't on screen).
-You get to use normal melee combat, stealth with a dagger or ranged with a bow. How you level those up depends on what you took the target out with. A stealth kill will get you a special rune to use on stealth skills, direct combat will get you a melee rune and so on.
All in all I'm impressed by what I read.
ne other thing I forgot to mention about skills, they seem to be trying some different stuff with a few of them. There's a warrior skill that lets you shoulder ram enemies and there seems to be at least some form of environment tie-in to it. They mentioned you could ram enemies into a fire pit or knock them off of a cliff.
Another ability mentioned was (I believe) a stealth skill where you go nuts on some poor bastard's chest which immediately starts you with a 5x combo in the battle. They also mentioned something about a shadow dash skill that lets you bounce between enemies pretty quickly.
The game right now can go either way but Monolith is a great studio and from the magazine it seems that they were given the OK to make it work similar to how Rocksteady was with the Arkham Asylum. The only problem is that I already know the game will be severly bad on 360/PS3 as alot of those features are made for next gen and the 7th gen versions basicly ggoing to be a different game.

I became interested when I saw Monolith was the dev, other than that I don't care too much for the series. I enjoy LOTR but I am not a hige fanboy or anything
