I haven't had any problems with playing Wii Sports Club: Tennis online. I have a feeling that if Brawl were patchable, they could have improved the online. So, worst case scenario: the online in Smash Bros. for Wii U is bad, but they can always provide updates to fix the issue. So, I'm not worried about it.
