Topic: Skylanders type Nintendo game?

What would be people's reaction to a Skylanders/Disney Infinity type game made by Ninty? Would people prefer a Smash Bros type all star cast from Mario to Little Mac or original creations?

I'm not counting Pokemon Rumble as that was poor and half-arsed btw.

It would be super awesome and the world will explode all over with nerdgasms from every walk of life.
Just imagine; officially liscenced mini-figurines of all your favorite Nintendo characters coming to life in a sandbox-type game! Disney Infinity for game nerds! Day one buy. I'd spend so much money on that.

My reaction would be
1. "Don't screw this up"
2. "Please be an awesome game"
3. "Please don't be too expensive"

in that order

A Skylanders style game would be pretty cool. Skylanders Swap Force was really awesome! But I'd prefer if they did a game similar to Disney Infinity. I would LOVE to mash several different Nintendo worlds together in my own little playground!

Would Ninty actually go ahead with this type of game tho? I read interviews before where they talk about DLC shouldn't be made to feel forced onto the buyers where as something like this screams buy them all.

I don't see why not. Toy-based games are all the rage now with the ever growing popularity of Skylanders and the new Disney Infinity which sold tremendously well thanks to the many familiar faces that are from Disney films. And aside from Disney, Nintendo is pretty much the only company who has such a vast variety of beloved characters that would easily sell as toys. And if Activision could pull it off with completely brand new characters no one's ever heard of, then Nintendo could easily pull it off with their famous Mario, Link, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and the rest!

I really dont like these type of games. It basicly boils down to: Money in your pocket = Fun you have with the game.
But i have to say, having such a game with nintendo figurines would be pretty awesome and...would basicly drain my finances...

Are you counting Pokepark 2? Pokepark 1 was pretty limited as you could only play as Pikachu and it was kind of short. P2 let you play as 4 different characters and after you beat the final boss there was still a bunch of stuff to do. It was pretty close to Skylanders type game. I've been expecting Pokepark 3 - I think the first 2 sold well enough to warrant a 3rd - would be a "toy" game just like Skylanders. I dont think it would have the Disney infinity creative "toybox" though as Nintendo is too possessive of it's IP to let anybody have some fun w/ it. It's been 6 years since Little Big Planet, Nintendo has had plenty of time to make a user generated game.

It wouldn't surprise me if Smash Bros. for Wii U utilized figurines to unlock characters. Like, you could still unlock characters just by playing the game, but if you had the figurine, then you could just scan it and unlock them right away. Kind of like what they did with Perfect Dark on the n64: Use the transfer pak to unlock cheat codes or play the game to unlock them.

I'm not a fan of these types of games. If you want to play more.... it'll cost you another $10-$15. That's all I get from it.
