I think they got this completely backwards. Wind Waker would have been amazing in 3D. It doesn't seem like it gained much by being in hd, after actually playing a demo of it though it is very beautiful in hd though. I do think ocarina of time would have ended up much better in hd too.

The models in the WW stand up quite well, OoT on the other hand would require an almost complete overhaul.

I disagree. WW HD being upgraded to HD is alot different than updating OoT to HD. It wouldn't make sense to completely revamp the graphics in OoT, which would probably make it look pretty similar to a new entry graphically.

Just imagine how much OoT would resemble the new Wii U Zelda(more than WW, at least), graphically. That's why they won't do that. It's mainly a case of graphics style, and the ammount of work.

Wanna know why companies usually don't make HD remasters of PS1 and N64 games?

Because it's simply too much work.

Ya, they already remade OoT for the 3DS. I'm actually pretty certain they finished OoT 3D before they even thought of upgrading WW to HD.

@Scar: Well Nintendo worked on Wind Waker HD themselves, and Grezzo did OoT 3D, so....who knows. (then again OoT 3D was years ago, so I dunno. xD)

I know. I'm just saying that the situation probably wasn't "OoT or WW". By the time they even considered WW HD, OoT had already been released.

It doesn't make much sense taking that into account. Then we would have OoT 3D and an HD remake of the same game. There's literally at least 3 reasons why OoT HD wasn't a good option.

From what I know they weren't even considering remaking OoT for the 3D, but the fan reaction to the tech demo was too good to not milk it.

That means they would have to make it on 3DS, which would be a lot more than jsut a remake. They wouldnt have been able to up the graphics as much, they would have to change the control scheme (just slightly) and it would be a lot more work then just putting it on Wii U. Also, the Wii U sales werent doing all that great, nd 3DS sales were booming. They dont need more 3DS games, because it is already selling so well. Wii U was struggling, so it really needed a good game to get it started.

yeah at least for a while, too many games coming and too little money, my wishilist only gets bigger and bigger for every game I have there must be at least 5 I still want
the WiiU needs to at least reach this ammount of good games before they can focus more on the 3DS again...

I'm sure we'll get an OoT HD remake one of these years...
But, I'm content with WWHD and OoT3D.

Any more of a graphic change and fans would be rioting about how OoT doesn't look like how they imagined it would.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I really doubt anyone would complain if OoT looked like this:

Okay, yes, literally there would be people who would complain. But no matter what there are going to be at least a few people who complain. I understand that it is impossible to make literally every single person happy. BUT I'm sure that there with those graphics you would have less people complain than you would if they made a different graphical style.

nope, this is how Twilight Princess should look in HD. I'm already happy that Link has fingers that actually look like fingers and that the great fairy isn't ugly enough to give nightmares XD
but if I had a WiiU and didn't have OoT3D I'd buy an HD OoT without even giving much thought

I am perfectly fine with the way it is right now. Wind Waker is a much larger, immersive world so it was better suited for coming to WiiU IMO. Ocarina of Time is perfect on handheld now and virtual console.

And if they did do this, we would have a thread that said it should have been backwards
