Since the Wii U is technically just a Wii on steroids, Nintendo should release HD Wii games, i.e. their best IP's.
I really, really... REALLY like what Nintendo did with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
Seeing that the Wii U is lacking in third-party games, should Nintendo start releasing Gamecube and Wii games in 1080p resolution, 60 frames per second?
What do you think about Super Mario Galaxy HD, Super Mario Galaxy 2 HD, Super Smash Bros. Brawl HD, Mario Kart Double Dash HD with online multiplayer?... and many, many more. (like Super Mario Sunshine HD with bonus worlds)
If Nintendo started heavily releasing HD remakes, would you support them?
Is this a good idea? I think it should be done to give us some content to enjoy since third-party games are scarce.
What Gamecube and Wii games would you like to see in HD?
Unless it's one of those games that has ridiculous replay value, I don't really care for remakes (which is why it's a travesty that Tales of Symphonia got a completely halfassed HD upscale, when it's one of the few games that truly worthy of a full remaster)
Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F
No. Screw remakes. I don't care that it's cheap, I'm tired of seeing minute updates of games I already have, while new games get ignored and good franchises go 5+ years without full sequels.
I think Nintendo is doing the remakes just right. You don't want to release to many and water it down. They pepper them in there very nicely. Sure it means there are some remakes that people want might get ignored, but there is such a thing as doing to much of it.
If they did it how the OP suggests the console would go down in history as the system you re-bought all your old games updated for HDTV's. lol

I think the OP is using the competition's logic namely thinking that releasing many HD remakes for their biggest titles will not only eliminate game droughts but it'll keep 3rd parties on board. The result though is that it wouldn't work for Nintendo because many people would be more willing to buy a Mario clone (e.g. NSMBU compared with NSMBWii) than a great 3rd party title.
I literally created a thread very similar to this and it was about how Nintendo should HD remaster games that REALLY need them from previous generations. Wind Waker HD should NOT be the only Gamecube game to be remade for Wii U!!!!!!!!!
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

"Heavily" isn't the word I'd use but I would like to see more remakes of Gamecube games. Preferably to games that I actually like.
So you can female dog about them being rehashes?
Remakes recycling content is excusable since the entire purpose is to recreate an existing game (although I generally prefer that they add something new to the experience and/or improve upon the originals' flaws, but luckily Nintendo is pretty good about that). It's the new games where rehashing is a problem (examples: the NSMB games, 3D Land and 3D World, Tropical Freeze) because then the whole series feels like a giant blur of indistinguishable games at that point.
They shouldn't go crazy with re-releases, but I'm not against seeing them do a remake every now and then. I would love to see a remake to something like F-Zero GX or Earthbound (ESPECIALLY Earthbound).
