I personally dont like sequels if they come out to quickly, like assassins creed or call of duty (in fact I like neither of these games). These are very often rush jobs out to make the quick buck.
However, I was thinking about the new Zelda game and thought how nice it would be if they made a sequel on the Wii U. Allright, the game hasnt come out yet, but still, it kinda saddens me when I think that such a great upcoming game will most likely be continued on the platform to come and not on the Wii U and in effect could be the last great game for the console.
What do you think? Will they make a sequel? I personally doubt it...
I personally liked that for the most part Nintendo has only released one game from each major franchise per console. Granted there have been exceptions like Mario Galaxy, The N64 Zelda's and Pokemon, but honestly as long as they keep up the quality and dont end up being like the AC or CoD games where you can tell that they are rushed then I don't mind how many sequels they bring out per console.

The reason Zelda games are always so legendary when they release is because they only come out every few years or so. It gives the games time to simmer and get that level of polish we've come to expect. I'm not sure if more Zelda games is a good idea in the long run, no matter how much I myself would want that
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Its probably similar to the GTA games, rockstar brings out a game every couple of years and then its like, boom, everyone's buying it. It has a bigger impact that way I guess.
And of course, I wouldnt want them bringing out sequels that are rushed, less polished - but I believe that they should be able to keep the quality while increasing numbers - there were two zelda games on N64 and on GameCube - and sort of on wii - if we can count the wind waker remake then we will also have two games on wii u
They should only make a sequel to something if they can do something new with the gameplay. And by "something new", I mean a game wide twist on the gameplay and not new level gimmicks or other pointless sporadic gameplay gimmicks.
I think it would be better to have a greater diversity of games than simply more of them. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was amazing, but we got so many Mario games and not enough Metroid, Starfox, Paper Mario, or F-Zero to balance it out.
Definitely not. So what if it's probably the only Zelda game for the generation? Would it really be better to have a mediocre and broken game every year and have the magic and thrill of it's gameplay fade away like assassin' creed?
Like Ubisoft acts like it's so great to have an Assassin's Creed every single year, always relying on the same gameplay every year, filled with bugs and glitches that they think is ok to launch with so long as they'll fix it later through a patch. When it's not. The product wasn't ready, you shouldn't release it yet.
As long as their putting a lot of effort into the games, I don't care how long it takes them to be released. I have other things to do rather than wait for/anticipate new games...
Quality over quantity.

You mean Armored Core? Hey, those are good games. AC4 to 4 Answer to 5 were good.
Wasn't "A Link between Worlds" supposed to be the sequel to "Link to the Past" or whatever. Look, sequels/ prequels may be good, but Nintendo have done pretty well so far.

I think Nintendo should outsource the development of more sequels to competent studios.
Both of the Zelda Oracle games are fantastic, and I wouldn't complain if anyone called GX the best F-Zero.
I think my opinion is mostly the same as everyone else who's replied to this thread so far, but it is a little unfortunate that we only had one Zelda game for Wii (not counting TP) and only one for Wii U (definitely not counting remakes). On one hand, Nintendo has shown us with Majora's Mask that they can make great and unique games in a rushed development period. I certainly wouldn't mind the Wii U sequel reusing this awesome graphic engine. I just don't want the game to be bad because of it.

Except remakes don't take as long to work on because they're recreating an existing design, so that's not exactly good evidence that they can handle a rush.
You know, this is excactly what Sakurai was talking about. We fans are always expecting sequels.
Yeah I never want them unless one of these three things happens.
1. Enough time for me to forget everything about the game has passed. (i.e DKCR)
2. It is Night and Day better. (3D World)
3. It is the same but lots harder (Super Mario Bros 2 (J) Lost Levels)
