Topic: Should I purchase Splinter Cell Blacklist?

I am heavily debating purchasing it. I love the franchise and really want to play a shooter on the Wii U...and I am not looking forward to Ghosts. If anyone who has the game has an opinion they would like to share, please let me know! (P.S I know about the broken online, but that doesn't matter to me seeing as i am currently in a residence for college that blocks gaming via wi-fi.)

You really should get it, it has an amazing story, good graphics, and the frame rate doesn't drop (I haven't noticed any drops). You can also play on the gamepad. And the online is great (or was, I don't think anyone plays anymore, probably gave up on trying to play it).The loading times are atrocious, however. But I really don't mind it too much as I'm often multitasking, so I, most of the time, have something to do. Oh, and I don't agree with the review on this site (at least not the score). It's definitely at least a nine, and it's one of the best games I've played in a while.

Well if you're interested in the stealth meets action type of thing, Deus Ex: Human Revolution Super Special Awesome Edition is coming out soon.

AVOID!

It's good for a rental, but that's about it. The online is a mess, and once you finish the game, there's nothing that will make you go back to it.

Also, I have no idea what game @KingH3nrry played. No frame rate drops??! If you have a couple enemies on screen in a fire fight the game bogs down, and if you try rotating the camera in some situations it does the same thing. TONS of slow down in the game, it probably runs at sub 30FPS levels most of the time.

I bought it, and regretted it almost immediately. If it had no technical issues, I would give it a 8, but with the broken online and graphical glitches and slowdown, I give it a 6.

@ActionMan Oh I think it's because I played exclusively as a ghost, so I never got into firefights. That's really the way to play Splinter Cell anyway. And I've seen no graphical glitches either. As a matter of fact, as I'm now trying to master all play styles, I have gotten into firefights and have STILL seen no frame rate drops. On top of trying to master all play styles after you beat the game, there's also co-op missions (most of which can be played solo), collectibles, achievements, etc. So I think it's safe to say there's a lot more to do after you beat the game.

I loved the game, thought it was one of the better SC games. Plays very well, and I agree with KingH3nrry not much slow down at all.

it is also dropping in price so you may even be able to wait until say black friday and get it in the $20s

To you guys saying there is no slowdown, how can you honestly say that?! Did you even play the game?

Even walking through the plane between missions feels like you are walking through mud!

Here's a direct quote from Eurogamer, who compared the technical aspects of all three versions of the game....

"Curiously, in terms of sheer playability, Sony's hardware achieves the most consistent frame-rates during combat, with 360 taking middle ground here, and the Wii U suffering from more regular dips to the low 20s, perhaps explaining the omission of split-screen gameplay.

...However, the Wii U's lower frame-rates, patience-testing loading screens and occasional freezing issues can't be ignored either, meaning we'd advise caution before buying this version. It feels rushed to market in these respects, and until a worthy patch arrives, the contest must be narrowed down to PS3 and 360 - a stalemate that itself can only be broken via your preference for either visual fidelity or performance."

Honestly, I'd wait for a price cut.

These games tend to go down in price pretty fast.
