So I have been thinking about selling my copy of Smash Bros for the Wii U since I am unable to get the GC adapter and now it sounds like Nintendo may not make more. I want to play the game but without the GC controllers I dont if that makes sense. Yeah I can use the game pad and what not but once I learn one controller type its hard for me to learn another one. Also I have way more GC controllers then Wii U controllers so I was looking forward to doing multiplayer with the GC controllers.
Now I am wondering will maybe some third party company like Nyko or Madcatz make one? Does anyone think that maybe it will be easier to find after the holidays and maybe I should hold on to my copy? Just be clear if I do end up trading it in now or whatever I will pick it up again if the GC adapter becomes available again. I just really at this point dont see me playing it at all till I can find an adapter.
So what are you guys opinion? Should I just wait? Will a third party one come out?

I would wait a while. It'll be years before the game has a price drop, so it's not like it's value will go down. If you can get one, it'll be less trouble with the game and you won't lose money from selling it and then buying it again.

Unless you absolutely have no use for the game and totally despise the other available controllers options without that add-on, I don't see why would you need to get rid of it just a few days after purchase.
It's your game and your money though.
Btw: I thought you had already asked this in the smash u thread.
@Jaz007: While that is nice the problem I have with that adapter is the fact that you need a Wiimote to plug it in and I only have two Wiimotes. Still that is an option if I can find some cheap Wiimotes.
@Morpheel: Nah I didn't ask that I said I was thinking about it but I wanted to see what others thought before I make that decision. Its not like I dont like the other control methods its just that once I learn a particular control method it's hard for me to switch to another one if that makes sense at all. Also as I stated it will really come in handy for multiplayer since I have 8 GC controllers (6 Wavebirds and 2 regular ones) and only two Wiimotes and no Pro Controllers.

I suggest you get over it and spend the time to learn a new control scheme that isn't totally outdated so you're not completely crippled when that control scheme is not an option.
That sounds mean but people really should be more versatile.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
There are ways to get GC support if you really want it that much. AFAIK you can order the adapters from Nintendo also, alternatively, you could get one of those third party adapters which treat a GC controller as a Classic Controller. There are also online stores which have the adapters listed even if it's not available right now. Keep an eye on them, I'm sure they'll appear. Because if this thing is selling like mad then there's no way they don't produce more of them.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
@WaLzgi: Oh wow those controllers you mentioned are nice and the fact that they are licensed by Nintendo make them a plausible alternative. Still at $25 each it makes it a bit price for multiplayer games for me.

If you absolutely cannot play the game without a GameCube controller, try those PDP controllers or use a Mayflash GameCube adapter that plugs into the Wiimote. The game thinks it's a Classic Controller, but they share the same buttons so configuration shouldn't be a problem.
I'd say wait a bit for more clarification first before jumping the gun and wasting money, I'm fairly certain more adapters will become available and prices on the second hand market will plummet when importing becomes a factor i mean it hasn't even been a week since release.
I would say keep it and try other controller options. If you still cannot master any other, then it may be wise to sell it.
Personally I don't like the cube controller for Smash, so I am looking forward to use classic, try the Gamepad to see how well it does or even put some money into finally getting a Pro controller.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
I'm just as mad as you are. I wanted to play multiplayer with my family this Christmas, but lol nope. Fortunately though, I'm willing to use other control schemes, and I hope to get one of the Hori battle pads. However, I would rather just use my good old cube controllers.
Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

If you don't mind them not being offical, but getting gnerally good reviews (which should fit your purposes fine), you can get third-party Wii motes for about $14 on Amazon, maybe cheaper if you look more than I did.
