Now isn't this a shocking revelation. So no resident evil 6 or epic mickey 2 for wii u.
How the hell does nintendo expect to compete with the deluge of 360/PS3 games this fall.

He did say "at this time" so maybe we'll get it later on the Wii U. I hope we do. A Wii U port of RE5 would be nice to. Also, where did you get the "probably get a light gun game" from. It doesn't say anything like that in the article.

I'm guessing it may be shown off at E3 due to NDAs.
Until it gets confrimed time to make jokes. I guess the wii u. Is weaker than current gen.
On another note the way nintendo is handling this launch has a good chance of back firing. They've some how made the console even more unappealing.

@Sony_70 "the way Nintendo is handling this launch"
What launch? Thing's not out for six months yet.
I am not ignoring you. I just do not post much.

Meant annoucment. I know the whole cloak and dagger thing is supposed to be to guve us a major blow out at e3 and blow our socks off but it seems like quite a gamble of juggling 3ds and wii u in 70 minutes. There's a reason why companies like microsoft and apple have things like ces, build, and wwdc to get people prepared before the main blowout.

How is this shocking? I certainly wasn't expecting all the big releases this winter to also make it to Wii U. I expect that only select devs have the kit at the moment, so most general projects won't come on board until a year, and only if the install base looks worth it for their particular needs.

Shocking news is forum scarsam for stating the obvious.
Also no hope for a E3 reveal. The director pretty much confrimed its not coming.
"Wii U is kind of a special case," said the Resident Evil 6 director. "The way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game."
Even then, the MT Framework engine is still compatible with theWii U,saysSasaki. The issue isn't with the game's engine, but rather what seems to be Sasaki's desire to create a unique title centered on the Wii U's capabilities. That's good toknow, because the last thing we need is a wacky Wii U port of what could be a great game on other consoles. If Sasaki wants to tinker around with the upcoming Nintendo console's hardware to deliver an intriguing and unique game, that's a much better idea than a port.

i can't believe they'd pass up the opportunity to get the launch sales for a new system. they seemed really eager to get in early on the 3DS, at least. if they port an improved version over, like re4 wii, it won't be so bad, but if they don't port it at all then that's terrible for nintendo. it's the wii's 3rd party situation all over again before the system has even launched.

Oh well, I still have my old consoles for all the last gen games.
@Sony_70 Sounds like what Sasaki said is almost word for word what Kojima said about developing for the Wii U.

Well, the 3DS was offering something really innovative and lucrative (3D that doesn't require glasses? On a handheld at that? Sure sounds like a good idea at least), and therefore bound to have a lot of early sales (at least in theory). The Wii U is more iffy (a Tablet controller for a video game system...what are we supposed to do with that?), so there's less of a chance the Wii U will do well early on. (note that this only from a marketing and development perspective. I could see RE actually benefiting from a Touch screen. Perhaps they're waiting until they can base an entire game around it instead of just a port?)

the director seems to want to do that. spending time to make the best use of the controller would probably make it a more unique game than a direct port. personally i just want to play it re4 style with the wiimote. i've yet to see a game on wii u where i'd actually want to go back to dual analog for the sake of a touchscreen. based on the 3DS RE games i don't see the touchscreen offering enough to give up IR aiming.

This. And as jaw dropping as the 3D effect was in RE: Revelatios(Ahem when set to 'very strong' Slider maxed and in First person view) is, I'd still rather play it on the Wii with Wii remote Pointer controls instead of the clunky analog stick rubbish(did i just say rubbish? eek!) Imagine how fluid and amazing the first person controls would of been with the wii remote? Plus, the Gyro 3DS controls in Revelations just didn't feel quite right to me plus they destroyed the 3D effect.
As for the Wii U, RE6 has to happen. I won't be getting it for the PS3 that's for sure. And if there's any indication from the past multiconsole ports 'like RE5' I'm afraid RE6 will get the visual downgrade and 'soft' graphics for the PS3. The PS3 version of RE5 had poor contrast, soft visuals, more slowdown and missing effects in comparison to the beautiful showcase that was the XBOX 360 version. I thought RE4 on my Wii looked better than the version of RE5. Amazing what soft visuals and poor flat contrast can do to a game. lol
Besides, I'm not buying a sony Move just for one game either.

I love you WaveBoy, but I'll never understand why controls and audio in games mean so much to you.

I have to get the most out of my TV and Audio and that's that. I'm no graphics whore by anymeans, but the soft visuals and horrible contrast in the PS3 version shouldn't be like that in the first place. It's like taking Super Mario Galaxy and doing the exame same thing or any game for that matter. It broke my little Wavey' heart when i got a glimpse of how much shaprer/clearer RE5 looked on the XBOX360 AND how it had such a sculpted fantastic look since the contrast was actually normal and not flat and washed out looking like on the PS3.
The end result made RE5 look inferior to RE4, which was crisper/sharper and rocked ze' good contrast on my Wii. I hate knowing that i'm playing the butchered version of the game. Forget HD and blah blah, the soft visuals have nothing to do with that, it's the way the PS3 rendered certain multiconsole titles. Ghostbusters looks especially NASTY on the PS3. It made it look like i was playing my PS3 using RCA cables.
As for audio, It's just as important. Like i said, i tend to use my Sennheiser HD595's on my Receiver/Amp and Wii games sound outstanding with them. Esepcially with 5.1 channel surround sound. the sounds are razor sharp with the headphones, and with titles like Metroid Prime 3 it completely raises the immersion factor, you feel much more involved, rather than using the crummy speakers coming out of your TV. Klonoa on my headphones whisped me away to dreamland and i didn't want to turn back! And I like it loud, until my ears bleed Heat man pixels. lol
And dude, Super Mario Galaxy is quite the treaty' in 5.1 surround sound. When the speakers are placed correctly and balh blah, you can hear waterfalls showering behind you, crickets buzzing in the back and yadah yadah. It's amazing how much more wonderful it makes the experience. dodn't judge until you've experienced it bud! Hell, the wii can only do DPLII, the Wii U will most likely do Dolby Digital and it will blowwww you away.

Man, Resident Evil is seriously becoming the complete opposite of what it used to be...I really hope Leon's Scenario as shown in the trailer which takes place in a city over run with zombies retains some of that classic RE horror, because based on Chris's scenario and especially the last guys they almost look like a different game all together...
And Multiplayer maps....sigh*I enjoyed RE5's Vs mode and everything, but holy borrito this ISN'T RE. damn you Capcom, you silly survival horror sell outs. Sure, we got a bit of that old RE flavor in Revelations, but they had to ruin a nice chunk of it with the mindless episode-based shootouts. lol The best part of the game was once you got into Queen Dido's Ship, amazing stuff! even though it didn't last too long.
