So it's probably just for some Sonic Racing game, but the guy that voiced Ryo in Shenmue is doing some new work for Sega.

If Shenmue 3 comes out, I'd buy a Wii U that very day. I was only saying a few weeks ago how much I wished they were doing a Shenmue HD double pack instead of Yakuza. It might not be a mainstream big seller but it would get a very hardcore crowd excited about Wii U.

They said they were holding off, but that it would probably happen eventually. I've never actually played any of the games, but I hear people go crazy over it or whatever.
If this was the 3rd unannounced exclusive for Wii U, people would go nuts, and it's possible if true.
They might add him to Sonic Racing, though I don't know where he would fit on the selection screen... In the end, it's just a rumor.
Who knows, maybe Shenmue could be the first Dreamcast game on VC.

Shenmue 3 is plausible in some way, there should be a new entry to the series and it shouldn't stay long-dead, since it was a revolutionary concept. Back in the old DreamCast days, those last games that were released had tons of innovation that were brought to a console war that its death was called upon. DreamCast couldn't fight against the announcement of the PS2/XBOX, and SEGA had to backdrag future console releases. It was an all or nothing situation, and those two mere announcements dropped the bomb for real.

I heard the game had weather effects, and that every decision you made affected in a way or another how the game would be played. I can see why many can jump of joy if the game ever gets a full HD remake of the two games it had, plus, Shenmue 2 has never gotten the chance to see American and European light, it stayed in its home country, to never look back for their newer fans. A remake would be the best thing that SEGA can do to its fans to make sure they stay with the faith of fresh air for their dreaded past jewels.

Shenmue 1 on the Dreamcast was pretty much the first slower, story based game I ever played and I loved what little I played of it (which describes my experience with the Dreamcast as a whole). Since I was like 10 or 11 when I played it, I'm not sure how I enjoyed a game like it back then. I guess playing FFVII helped but there's kind of a big difference between the 2 games...

I think it would be the ideal game for Nintendo to tie up. They can't pay for exclusivity on huge selling IPs because it would cost a ton, and with Wii U hardware numbers so low they'd risk bit making that money back. Shenmue was not a big seller, it's almost certainly dead, so if Nintendo went to Sega and asked if they wanted to work together to revive it... low costs plus you get the hardcore crowd excited for Wii U.

Shenmue 2 released in America as an (orginal) Xbox exclusive.

Currently playing: Sacred Gold, Valkria Chronicles, Rune Factory 4, 007 Blood Stone, and Uncharted 3.

I'd love to see Shenmue 1 & 2 released on a Nintendo console somehow, then a 3rd one. I haven't played since the first one but I did love that game. Shenmue was the first thing I thought of when I saw that they were releasing the Yakuza games in the eShop. It just feels like the next step if those are popular enough. I plan on getting a Wii U eventually, but the announcement of Shenmue would even further my incentive to buy one.

Not sure if this is true, but I remember reading somewhere that Yu Suzuki owns the rights for Shenmue 3. Is he still part of Sega ?
I would be interested to know what Arcade Games would be in Shenmue 3. I spent most of my time in 1 & 2 playing the Arcades and collecting the eggs. I don't think I ever completed the entire collection
