we all love yoshi, but cmon... this is getting ridiculous
Nintendo doesn't have to give us new information every 2 weeks.. just let them develop the game and give us gameplay-footage etc. when it's almost ready to ship

the same that was up with X until the last Nintendo Direct, that is, early development stages and no info to share for the time being.

goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Keep in mind that all they had was screenshots when they last showed it off, so it probably was still very early in development.

You're wrong though. They showed short clips of gameplay footage.

This.
And don't we have, like, games coming out in springish? Worry about those games for now, then be concerned about this one.

the only nintendo game coming for wii u this spring in Mario kart 8 which is the end of may which is kinda why people are complaining about there being a drought and why I wanted Yarn Yoshi out sooner to help get us through this drought

2D platformer or not, it's all rendered in 3D. Which means it'll have loads of 3D assets despite being played on a 2D plane.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Yarn Yoshi was canceled and it's leftovers ended up here.

The yarn yoshi style is just showing up everywhere. Cool course

If there are stages being made, which you could say can act as kinda "ad" for the game, then why would it be canned?

I guess it will be this year, between MK8 and SSB to make the drought little more manageable. Releasing it now could hurt sales of New Yoshi

Which was only a few seconds and looked like early alpha.

well at least we even know what yarn yoshi looks like. can't say we have been as lucky with shin megami tensei X fire emblem, all we have for that is a trailer that shows us absolutely nothing.

I imagine the Sega takeover slowed it down a bit. However, Sega really likes Nintendo atm, so I doubt they'll can it. Also, Sega vowed to not interfere too much with Atlus development

I doubt they will can it since they mentioned it at the big stockholder meeting a few weeks back, though my guess is we won't see anything new until either e3 or TGS

Good games take longer to make, I'd rather wait to get a good game instead of getting a bad game that was rushed to get released.

They just mentioned it on their financials as games to be launched. It's very much alive.
Also shin megami tensei X fire emblem.

It's still slated for 2014 and Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule warriors are scheduled for summers/early fall.

Wasn't Yoshi's New Island universally mediocre? Maybe they thought it was ready to go out, but are fixing what people didn't like about Yoshi's New Island in Yarn Yoshi to make it an overall better game.
