Topic: Seriously what's up with yarn yoshi

a major wii u game drought is upon us and Yarn Yoshi could've played a part in helping us get through it I mean it's a 2D platformer being ,made on a HD console how long could it take to finish it

Good games always take their time. And 2D level design is one of the most time consuming aspects in game making.

Yarn Yoshi was canceled and it's leftovers ended up here.

We all get that way sometimes. Just don't listen to any of the rumors and wait until Nintendo has something to say about it.

Did it ever occur to you that Nintendo literally had nothing Wii U related for the 1st part of last year and sales had already started plummeting, so many of the games that were shown in the Jan ND were REALLY early in development?

if thats the case then why did they even bother revealing Yarn Yoshi how if a New Super Mario Bros. game didn't drive sells what chance would yarn yoshi have

The Jan ND was obviously a PR tactic to instill confidence in consumers about the Wii U.

I'm not really sure what your Mario comparison is supposed to mean when almost every game released on the Wii U thus far has more than likely fallen short of publishers' expectations. Also, every game isnt going to sell as well as others. Expecting a Yoshi game to sell as well as an installment in the Mario franchise is kind of unrealistic.

Its probably coming but Nintendo have said themselves how much a toll HD is taking on development times.

Apparently it's being released in 2015.

Anything to back that up? I'm pretty sure no-one will buy it though. People are already saying there are too many 2-D platformers on wii u now tropical freeze is out.

Yarn Yoshi was an idea Nintendo knew they could mock up very quickly for last year's ND and will probably become a proper game for Wii U but could undergo massive changes and actually become Project HAMMER

Keep in mind that all they had was screenshots when they last showed it off, so it probably was still very early in development. Nintendo usually focuses their Nintendo Direct's on content that will be releasing soon, so that's why we haven't heard anything about it since then. I suspect we'll hear about it at E3 this year though.
