Sega’s ignorance and Nintendo’s failing console

What could save Nintendo you might ask? The battling Wii U is struggling sales wise and has barely any notable games on it. As an owner of a Wii U, I must say that I’m impressed with its hardware but disappointed in its software.

Apart from the monster controllers battery life being short to around 3 hours, it’s a neat piece of gear and performs very well with very minimal flaws.

Quite simply, the Wii U has too many kiddie games, not enough mature titles. It doesn’t have to have GTA and the likes on it, but surely theres room for some Capcom classics such as Rival schools, Street Fighter etc.

Heck, theres plenty of room for some classic Dreamcast games too. Since Nintendo and Sega have formed some alliance these days with all these outdated and disappointing Sonic games, theres gotta be room for games like Crazy Taxi 2, Zombie Revenge, Blue Stinger, Confidential mission, Seaman and of course Shenmue 1&2.

What game could really benefit with a HD reboot and make use of that massive gamepad?

Shenmue could definitely benefit from the use of the second screen. Imagine having that notepad open on the second screen flipping through pages whilst you play, view toy capsules on the screen, playback the purchased cassette tapes on the pad whilst strolling down Dobuita streets, view moves and even a complex type of touchpad QTE fun.

The Wii U has so much potential and yet it seems there is no effort in its software market from third party developers.

Theres not too many interested developers for the Wii U, but there is Sega and a few others. I see Sega being its major dev apart from Nintendo themselves.

I’ve critisised Nintendo about not gathering some more serious titles, its now time to hit on Sega.

What has Sega bought to the table for Nintendo and has it helped?

The short answer is No.

Well if you count Sonic then that’s up to you. Sega have only made Sonic games for the Wii U and its counterparts. No matter how many times Sega has been told that Sonic is outdated and just plain boring, they continue to release this type of rubbish.

Sega I hope your reading this and take something from it.

You ignore yours fans, you’ve snobbed off all PSO fan requests to bring PSO 2 to the west, you’ve snobbed off your Shenmue fans for over a decade and gave us only a race, a sad memory of Ryo Hazuki who also looked like dog crap in Sonic And Sega All stars Racing.

There it is! That word, Sonic!

Were sick and tired of seeing new Sonic games. Why don’t you just be Sonic Team and that’s it?

Listen to your fans, help Nintendo out. Your not helping them by bringing out all these Sonic games. Its great to have 1 or 2 Sonic titles but not all of them.

As I stated before, reboot some old franchises such as Shenmue, Panzer Dragon and even PSO onto the Wii U. The fans would love you for it, youd make plenty of cash, Nintendo would certainly sell a huge load more of units as well and it would give it a much better stance in the gaming world.

Sega, you see the tweets, the emails yet you ignore them. You don’t speak. One example, we’ve tweeted you plenty of times and for a long time demanding some Shenmue news, clarification to rumours and you don’t answer.

Sega, it’s time to step out from that dark corner and speak to us, hear the fans demand and most of all, acknowledge it!

sorry but you've made a typo, the Nintendo's failing "console" was the Virtual Boy not the WiiU.....
if you really meant WiiU I'm with MAB:

To save the Wii U you want them to HD port games from another Console that did worst than the Wii U is currently doing?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Shortened version (Trying to help you out OP)

  • OP likes hardware, but not software
  • Not enough mature titles
  • Room for Capcom classics
  • Room for Dreamcast classics as well
  • Shenmue could benefit from gamepad
  • Sees SEGA as one of Nintendo's go-to developers, and that they need to do more than Sonic for the system.

the second point is really whiny, just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can't enjoy kiddie games(unless you never liked kiddie games at all even when a kid then it's perfectly understandable)
but everything else is good, won't save the WiiU at all but will make it a better console(and give me even more reasons to buy it , being money my only reason to not buy it)

See, Nintendo games are ageless, means that adults and children enjoy playing those games. Example: Super Mario 3D World.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Thanks. Thats exactly what I mean. Yes I enjoy the Wii U very much and own Ps3 and xbox 360 as well. Some games like Luigi U is good also. Darksiders and Splinter cell all good as well but what im saying is that there is plenty of room for HD remakes and more mature titles as well.

i just played the xbox one and checked all those core/mature games on its shop.

it has only killer instinct, cod ghosts and assassin's creed IV as mature titles.
not much compared to zombiU, ninja gaiden 3, mass effect 3, cod blops2, Assassin's Creed 3, and Batman on WiiU's launch.

Also Xbox one has just 22 games at launch day (much of it incomplete casualware) opposed to WiiU's 30.
There are not even indie games on the One shop. Where's Xbox Live?? The Wii U in comparison had the whole back catalogue.

I would love to see some HD Dreamcast titles on Wii U. Did the HD Jet Set Radio remake sell well on PS3/360? That'd be one of the first I'd like to see ported. Power Stone Collection too.

You may want to try sending this to Nintendo and/or Sega directly. Best of luck to you! :3
