Topic: Second Wii to Wii U System Transfer

I wanted to copy a new Mii from another Wii to my Wii U, so I copied the data to a Wii remote. However, the Mii Maker on the Wii U doesn't support Wiimote transfer, so I transferred it to my old Wii instead. I know the only way to copy the data to my Wii U is to do another system transfer, but I'm afraid this will overwrite my credentials to access my VC and WiiWare games from my first system transfer. Does anyone know if I can safely do a second transfer or another way that will allow me to copy Mii data from a Wii to a Wii U.

By the way, just remaking the Mii from scratch isn't an option, as the whole point of what I'm doing is to allow certain Mii-accessible Wii games to recognize the Mii when the games (and the accompanied save data) are used across multiple Wii and Wii U systems.

@BulbasaurusRex A Wii>WiiU transfer is a one-shot deal. It's like formatting a target disk.

So why not another one-shot deal when the Wii has acquired new data after the first transfer? What exactly are you saying? Are you saying that it's not even possible to initiate a transfer to a Wii U that's already been the target of a previous transfer?

The answer is yes, you can transfer the contents of multiple Wii systems to your Wii U and the content will integrate.

The one minor catch is that duplicate game saves (such as if your Wii U already has a Mario Kart Wii game save and the Wii you're transferring from also has a Mario Kart save) will be overwritten by the save being transferred since the latter takes precedence during the transfer process.

So keep that in mind and if you don't wish to lose an existing save on your Wii U, just simply delete the duplicate save on the Wii before initiating the transfer.

I just vaguely remembered a limitation with Mii's and located Nintendo's faq about this particular topic to refresh my memory. So while your game saves and Virtual Console and WiiWare content would be safe, I suspect it's a potential deal breaker for you since if you're looking to do this just to bring over a Mii, you probably already have Mii's on your Wii U's Wii mode that you don't want to lose.

https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...

"Mii characters in the Wii Menu of the target Wii U console and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection ID of the target Wii U console will be replaced with the Mii characters and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection ID of the last source system to perform the transfer."

So unlike DLC and game saves, your existing collection of Wii mode Mii's on your Wii U will be wiped and replaced by what's on the Wii you're transferring from. The Mii content isn't integrated like the rest of it is and thus only the Mii's from the Wii you're transferring from will be present on your Wii U's Wii mode afterwards.
