I recently bought a microSDHC card 16g for my wii u. When I tested it, there was no sign of a "usb" storage connection like the SD cqrd never existed. Any idea how to fix it? I mostly bought it so I can homebrew my wii u.
Thank you for your time
(Also, I want to mention that the wii menu can read the card)

@Tatolg4 Sometimes cards need to be formatted for the console.

How to format card for Wii U (formatting wipes the card, so be ready for that)

What cards are compatible with Wii U (just in case)

Thank you so much, haven't tried it yet but I'm sure you gave me the right solution.
Formatting it is ok with me moreover it's a brand new card.

@Tatolg4 You did say you recently bought a new card. If you've got a UHS-_ speed card, nintendo says those aren't compatible. That sounds crazy to me, but maybe that's the issue? One of those two Nintendo links I pasted above outlines which cards are compatible. Back when the Wii U came out high speed cards weren't as common as they are now.

@WoomyNNYes Its not that, SDHC is for sure compatible but after the SD format nothing changed

Hi @Tatolg4 - you posted a while ago so maybe you've solved the issue by now, but if not...

You said that the SD card is only recognised in the Wii menu so I'm guessing you are inserting the card into the front of the system? That SD slot is only used for the Wii partition of the console. You need to use an SD card reader and plug it into a USB port for the Wii U to recognise and format cards. SD card readers aren't expensive (I paid about £5 for mine). Hope that helps.

@Monkey_Balls thank you so much, That helped a lot. That means that I can use the same sd card reader that I use for my PC right?
