It's not something I would like to see but whatever, if the majority wants it then fine. However, I have no nostalgia linked to the game because I really disliked the N64 and didnt care enough about it on the DS.

"The rumor said 2016 for DKR, that's more than enough time to give MK8 breathing room IMO."
While I dont disagree, I think a lot of that depends on what Nintendo does with MK8 in the future. Amiibo support is coming and who knows what kind of updates/DLC we might see.

You disliked the N64? I realize some components may have not aged the best, but that's when Nintendo was firing on all cylinders before the Wii lead them astray.

Yep, I really dislike the N64. It has nothing to do with how well something ages to me. One of my favorite games to this day is Kings Field on the PS1 and it looks a mess. When the N64 and Playstation were coming out, they had a ton of demo units that I tried everyday for a week. I cant stand the controller and for me, the library wasnt that great. Sure you had Mario 64 and DK64, but the Playstation was far superior for me. Its not really that unpopular of an opinion for people around my age.

Whatever you say dad They're both equally terrible with that controller, lol j/k. In all seriousness, I think you know what I meant. Just naming a couple highly praised games.

Gotta say I preferred the N64, the controller was great back in the day, despite how jarring it may be now, and if you liked 3D platformers, first person shooters, and arcade type racers, the N64 was your console of choice. Everything else, stick with the PS or Saturn.

While Diddy Kong Racing was always better (or at least always better than MK64), it would probably be the least interesting racing game Nintendo could revive.

I mean they literally have like 5 different racing series they could bring back that play way more different than Mario Kart

Thats great that you preferred the N64. Whatever makes you happy. I wish Nintendo couldve persuaded me at the time, considering Nintendo has always been my first choice, but it just didnt happen. Again, this has nothing to do with comparing the controller by todays standard. I used it extensively when it came out and just simply didnt like it. As for the last little bit you wrote, were gonna have to agree to disagree cause thats nowhere close to the truth imho. The Playstation had all those genres in spades and then some. Platformers are my favorite genre and wasnt let down that generation at all, but I digress. I don't wanna derail the thread more than I already have.

Honestly, I think the N64 had better platformers, but I thought the PSOne had some decent ones, too. It's just that they aged a lot worse than, say, Banjo-Kazooie or Super Mario 64. Except for Ray-Man 2, but that was cross-platform. Neither system had good FPSes, though. I think the Doom games on both systems were the closest, but I still didn't think much of them over their PC counterparts. The N64 has F-Zero, but I think that was the only racer that was better than pretty much anything you could find on the PSOne. The N64 ones were still decent, but I vastly preferred the likes of Ridge Racer and Wipeout XL, and even Crash Team Racing.

...it all kinda evens out in the end, though obviously the PSOne beats it out in pretty much all the other categories.

Plus PS1 FPS's were pixelated pieces of garbage for the most part, however, outside of 3D platformers, strictly arcade racers, and FPS's,.........the Playstation absolutely dominated software wise in every way.

From the rumour article:

“I’m gonna have to finally come out and be “that guy” in this thread.
Never thought this would be something I could say, but I have a line of communication with Monster, and while I can’t confirm 100% it’s DKR2, I can confirm, perhaps well outside my comfort level, that they’re working on something for the WiiU that is pretty much talked about by everyone involved as the most exciting thing to be done on WiiU yet, and that they are certain it’s going to blow people away upon reveal. I genuinely wasn’t told details because while I may want to know, I don’t trust myself with that much knowledge, so it’s likely best they didn’t either.”

It's obvious guys.
It's not Diddy Kong Racing, it's Kirby Air Ride! What else could possibly be the most exciting thing to be done on Wii U yet?

I like makin' games!
Future Pinball games!
Petit Computer games!!
and SmileBASIC games!
Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

...F-Zero? Star Fox? A new IP? Pretty much anything besides Kirby Air Ride? Because I mean, did anyoner even play Kirby Air Ride? Like, besides that one 4P battle mode-style mode that everyone always talks about? Because the rest of the game was pretty bad.

That was a 100% legit question. I remember that battle mode was the only mode I never got to play when I rented it, and I hated that game. As did my bro and his friend who we played it with. And I have not seen anyone have even one good thing to say about that game that didn't solely rest on that one mode. Not a word!

It's pretty obvious you have never played the game.

Top Ride is on equal terms with City Trial. Air Ride is fun, too, if you like traditional racing.

Shut up Meg.

Just to be clear, this is the only response you're ever getting from me again, CC.

You should try it if you enjoy Kirby or racing games.

It's easy to learn and fun to play with others. It's not perfect, nor is it an instant recommendation for newcomers to the GameCube ( I'm pretty sure the 'high demand' for a sequel is irrational), but it's a fun Kirby game.

I did try it, I already know I hate it, and I'm not spending $60 just to hate it some more. I've done that too many times already in my life. I just really did not know anybody actually enjoyed it outside of that one mode. I thought it was Sonic Adventure all over again.
