It is rumored that the Legend of Zelda will be released in Spring 2016 but Nintendo hasn’t give any confirmation about this.

Although some sources confirmed that it will release in early 2016, fans are advised to not take this news seriously. IGN said that the official launch date for the Legend of Zelda will be announced in 2016.

Previously, Nintendo said they will not release a new Zelda game until the year 2015. Despite that, there was one video on YouTube where the game producer explained the release date will be pushed back to 2016.

Eiji Aonuma, the producer of The Legend of Zelda said they didn’t give up on the Wii U version of the game. He also denied that The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes is the reason why they delay the Wii U version.

With Twilight Princess HD's release being so close, I doubt that Zelda U will be released until at least mid-2016, or shortly after E3. Nintendo will not release two Zelda games for the same platform in such close proximity.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"

This seems to be the origin of the rumor. The NeoGAF thread about it got locked because...it's a rumor.

That said, I think Nintendo would want a world-wide pre-summer release title in late May (in 2015 it was Splatoon, in 2014 it was MK8). Zelda U could be that title, but Twilight Princess: HD release date works against that.

I thought Pokken was going to do the early summer hype release for the west.

Pokken Tournament isn't a title by Nintendo, and it's already confirmed as March for Japan.

Makes thread about rumours provides no source but might be from GAF, to lock or not to lock that is the question?
Serious though let's continue this discussion in the current Zelda U thread instead given how little factual evidence there is and all.
