I doubt that Kid Icarus; uprising is "pretty much done". If it was, they wouldn't have delayed it to next year and it can't just be due to translations as they delayed for Japan too.

I like the sounds of those Mario and Metroid ideas but they had better not drop the Mother series from smash bros. I also like the sound of the sega, Konami and Square-enix characters. I hope Neku is one of them.

This better all be fake just because of that one line. I hope that only applies to the character roster and not the video game series though. Mother I understand, but we need a new F-zero!

If this is correct... then this is awesome news.

I think it just means there has been no plans and will be no plans for any new installments for these franchises for some time so there's no need to really focus on them.

Pretty sure they don't name games before they start developing, and this doesn't fit with the running Smash name scheme of adding a word that has something to do with fighting (Melee, Brawl) to the title. Might be a code name like X was, but the translated notes reads like a wishlist.

I missed it...ah well...wasn't really looking into that game right now anyways.

I don't think we need more Mario characters in Smash 4, lol. We already have Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser... plus Wario and Donkey Kong if you want to count the characters from the franchise but representing their own spin-off canons.

No ideas for new F-Zero and Mother? Of course there can be more F-Zero and Mother games!
They talk about Super Smash Bros. Universe, so they probably mean the playable characters. Ness, Lucas and Captain Falcon are good fighters the way they are in Brawl - and no new games in both franchises have been released - so they don't really need to make a new moveset for these 3 characters in Universe. I have some ideas to modify Ness to make him more different to Lucas, but what will you make out of a character that was only playable in racing games? Captain Falcon was a great hidden fighter in Smash Bros. 64, and he was the same fighter in Melee and Brawl, true to his former unique self. He stayed the same... That was great! Ness and Lucas are very unique characters as well. Really, you don't need to change what's already working.

The other thing....
Seems to me as if they want to have more focus on characters of the Mario universe. I think we can expect some of the classic ones that were playable characters in Mario Golf, Tennis, Kart, Party, etc.
I think Toad has a good chance to be playable, and there's Bowser Jr., Daisy, Waluigi, Koopa, Shy Guy, King Boo, and Lakitu as likely candidates.

Lastly, KONAMI already had Solid Snake as a character. They probably have someone from the Castlevania franchise in the next one.
My bet on a new SQUARE ENIX character is something out of the Dragon Quest franchise.
I think it's time for CAPCOM to add Chun-Li or Jill Valentine (to have some Street Fighter/Resident Evil themed characters/stages), but they probably please Mega Man- or even Monster Hunter-fans.

Yeah, hopefully it doesn't mean Mother characters and Captain Falcon are out. He has no ideas now, but I'd love to give him some for Kumatora, Masked Man and Poo :3

What will happen to Sexy Zero Suit Samus? Samus was kinda quick, and ZSS was much quicker. Well, w/e, as long as ZSS is still playable.

Sega characters: Ulala, AiAi or Nights are ones I think would fit in.

Konami: Bomberman, Simon... I don't know what else

Square Enix: Dragon Quest character, Lightning, Hero of Light, Geno, Ninja, Black Mage or Neku.

And that's if it's true. Of course, I don't want 3rd party characters taking space that would have belonged to someone like Mewtwo. They should have finished Mewtwo for Brawl before Sonic :/

Mario characters: There's plenty, but I do see Bowser Jr., Daisy (sporty/strikers) and Waluigi being possible fighters. Even Funky Kong and King K. Rool (not Mario characters but in the same universe). Of course, FK chances.. Well, I can't really think of proper move set for him.

And that's if this document is to be believed. And this may be just for the WiiU version. The 3DS version could be worked on by a separate team.

I'm crossing my fingers that Nintendo gives Sakurai a bigger team to work with so these games come out a bit sooner.

That doesn't fit with the fighting themed titles. Melee, Brawl, ...Universe? Probably just what they're calling it so they don't have to say the Super Smash Bros for the Wii U.
