lol. I mean, it would work well, right? The gamepad would make it easy to make and the gamepad would make it nice to play, so you could access all your inventory on the bottom screen. Maybe there could even be an option to export the game to the 3DS, which you would probably also need some sort of RPG Maker App to be able to download (from the Wii U console) and play the game.
Also, you could share your RPGs with other players online.
The gamepad would make it super easy to work it. I used to spend hours on RPG Maker back in the day. Classic case of a game that's as good as you make it out to be lol
It would require having Steam on Nintendo Wii U, since the only other alternative to getting RPG Maker is through Steam (since the system can't download stuff from the browser).

...You know the system has an SD card slot right? lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Why on earth would it require steam? I'm talking about a version of RPG Maker made specifically for the Wii U. If they make a version of RPG Maker that's specifically for the Wii U, why would they need steam? Why not just put it on the eshop?
The way I imagine it would work, is other people would have to buy RPG Maker in order to play other people's RPGs. This way, it's more money for whoever makes RPG Maker. I wouldn't expect it to cost much and the ability to play plenty of free RPGs that other people have made would make it all the more worth the money. Then there would be some sort of game browser, sort of like viewing people's drawings in Colors 3D, allowing you to look at RPGs that others have made.
And having a Miiverse community would likely broaden its appeal. People who don't have RPG Maker could go into the Miiverse community and see pictures of what others have made which might entice them into getting it.
I realize this might be an old topic at this point, but the thing about RPG Maker is that there IS a console version of the series.. it started off way back on the SNESS and continued on the PS1 and then the PS2... so it's not impossible for them to create an RPG Maker for Wii U... more recently there was an PRG Maker for DS not long ago that was released.
I think it could work rather well.. no need for a mouse cause the game pad could have that covered, and all you would need at that point is a keyboard, which also would work. It would make inserting dialog rather easy compared to all the annoying things you had to go through with the PS2 iterations.
Plus.. MARIO MAKER!!! Wahoooooooo!
I would really like this! If it does happen there should be a free marketplace where developers can share their finished projects for other Wii U owners to download. It would be a great idea given the lack of official Wii U RPG's at this point! As one of four people who developed one of the most popular games that was distributed for the PS2 RPG Maker II developer software "100,000 downloads" this would be an incredible app to have fun with! For those of you who don't know the PS2 had an accessory that was available for a few years that would allow you to upload RPG Maker II files online so other people could download and play your games. Anyways I really hope that we'll see a new RPG Maker app for the Wii U!
