I think Sony gets a little to much credit for E3 2013. All Sony did was continue the same services they were offering with PS3 while making PS+ required on more features. You get those same services on Wii U without having to pay for online

I basically agree with what he said

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Sony showed the least amount of games at last year's E3 and coasted on the DRM and price points.

I've always liked reggie's first E3 when he comes and is boom were here to fight.

@mamp @gamecubed They revealed the PS4 price and used games. Few games. I'm looking for the games. Exculsives, to be exact. Not much. Infamous, Knack, Killzone are the only appealing ones to me. Driveclub IMO is just a looker, like Ryse SOR.

@skywake Ok, all those are next. Microsoft and Sony did one. Did Konami/EA/Ubisoft?

@defhalan @shingi_70 Agreed. There weren't that many games.

Lord 2010 was a great year. 1st E3 I really paid attention to, the 3DS reveal did me in at the time...lordy I remember the first time I saw the 3DS on my Mom's Iphone in the back of her car and I was totally freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Animal Crossing is what motivated me to get one on launch day (didn't know I'd be waiting three years on that....), but soooooooooo many other great games announced that year, OOT 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising, Mario Kart 7, Kingdom Hearts, Nintendogs + Cats, Pilotwings! Good times, good times has it really been four years??? I guess we really are halfway through with the 3DS...

Formally Square-enixFan, Neo-GeoFan. A lover of fine games and handheld systems!!!!!!!!!!
The New 3DS XL is amazing, soon the NX will be upon us!

I'm watching Nintendo's 2012 and man you can easily tell the problems nintendo had from the outset just by watching it. They spent lot of time on games for the original Wii audience with SING Party and Wii Fit U, and totally ignored The Wonderful 101 and ZombiU which should have gotten more show time.

Also its pretty adorable how Scott Moffit was there clearly to gauge reaction at putting another executive into the rotation, but he was pretty bland and i'm prettty sure people cheered when he said he wasn't going to be on stage long.

Poor Scott. Even Bill Trinen had more stage presence than him.

The sad part is you tell he only screwed up because he was nervous and was obviously reading the teleprompter.

Your 2013 rating for Sony and Nintendo is pretty generous.

Which year had the Twilight Princess reveal?

If my 3DS YouTube is stable enough to allow it, I wouldn't mind rewatching some of the conferences, and want to start with that one.

I still remember the big, extravagant E3 2006 conference from Nintendo. I mean, opening up with Miyamoto conducting a virtual orchestra with the wiimote? EPIC!

I want another one like that one.

I was wondering, if the Twilight Princess was a huge moment, how big could be the Mega Man's show up last year, if they where an audience?

maybe not that big because I believe that year they had gaming fans there instead of just press(?) but it would be comparable to Snake in Brawl

People like Mega Man but not at the same way people like Zelda, I do think just seeing Mega Man in a game would garner a pretty big crowd.

Just got done with Nintendo's 2004 conference.

Among Metroid Prime 2, Star Fox Command, Resident Evil 4, Pikmin 2, Paper Mario: TTYD, Zelda: Minish Cap, Mario 64 DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters, and Zelda: Twilight Princess, fans had a LOT to be excited about that year (If this year's is somehow even remotely close to this, people will go crazy, lol)

Only bad thing I can say was that it was a bit slow in the middle (lots of GCN sales graphs, and a lot more developer interviews about DS, than games themselves). Great overall, though.

Just finished up Nintendo 2005.

the opening segment with the DJ creating music with Electroplankton was cringeworthy...

The Nintendogs segment got me surprisingly... hyped. Maybe I should pick up Nintendogs + Cats someday (could probably find it dirt cheap).

Game Boy Micro announced, and MKDS & ACDS announced for Christmas release.

Sizzle for DS games (big applause for M&L:SS, "Castlevania DS", NSMB, and Advance Wars: Dual Strike)

Looong segment on the reveal of "Revolution" (Wii). Lots of promises, but no big reveals (other than a teaser for MP3:C).

Gamecube Sizzle (I don't know what's more surprising. The big crowd reaction to Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, or the big crowd reaction to a One Piece game. Remember, this was 2005, way before the series got popular in the west... or so I thought. I sure as heck wasn't aware of it at the time, lol).

Finally, they ended out with a new, longer trailer for Twilight Princess (THIS, is the one I saw for the first time, and it hypes me still to this day).

Overall, not as good as 2004, but not bad.

After rewatching Sony's a couple weeks ago, it wasn't all that great. I just got caught up in hating Xbox One.
Also, Nintendo's E3 Direct was really good to me, except I could care less for Iwata rexplaining the games. I was one of the few who watched the 3D World trailer over and over for 2-3 weeks. I was hyped. Quick fact aboit me: Last E3 Direct, I would watch the E3 trailers from the Direct a couple of times each day.
I'm also gonna watch 2004 soon. Any other noteworthy conferences besides Sony 2006 and Konami 2010? And how far back was Nintendo @ E3?

Watched Nintendo 2006 earlier today.

Official name of the Wii revealed, and while there was some sales talk (mostly about DS), it had more consistent games talk than the two that came before, making it interesting on a more consistent basis (even though it didn't have a huge bombshell).

The live demonstrations were all fun, and watching them play TP, Red Steel, and Wii Sports on the big screen got me hyped for Wii all over again. (Will probably pop in Wii Sports next time I get the chance, lol).
