Yeah I agree I don't really want F-Zero also I don't see shooters like battlefield and cod as hardcore personally I think Mario and Zelda are a lot more hardcore compared to cod it takes a lot more skill to beat them and master them then it does to master call of duty......

Hardcore is generally used as a term which is the opposite of casual. Casual games are considered light gaming experiences that anyone can enjoy, including people new to games or who don't regularly play games (e.g. Wii Fit, Wii Sports). Hardcore would be games that are more in-depth and tend to be desired by people who regularly play videogames. I'd agree with you that Zelda is a hardcore title, but obviously Battlefield and COD games are as well. Hardcore doesn't mean difficult or challenging, it's just a term that means "for real gamers". Obviously there's no such thing as a real gamer, so it is a silly term. And there are grey areas. I'm not suggesting it's useful. But it doesn't mean difficult. Battlefield and COD qualify.

Yeah I understand where you are coming from I just hope Nintendo don't abandon the wii u like they kind of did with the wii I mean there were a few great games but they focused on wii fit and wii sports crap and I would of just rathered them focus on good games instead of stupid gimmicks and yeah I use to play cod and I still like battlefield but I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer or casual I just like to play games there is franchises from all consoles and pc I respect!

Actually, although there were quite a bit of games in the "Wii" series, Nintendo released quite a bit of their core series on Wii, as well.

It had three all new Mario platformers (a first since NES), Mario Kart, Paper Mario, two Metroids, two Zeldas (albiet one a GCN port), Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong Country, two Kirbys, Wario Land, WarioWare, Wars, two Excite games, numerous Pokémon spin offs, and a few I'm probably forgetting.

Sure, there were a few series that didn't pop up, but that happens every gen (heck, the N64 didn't even get one Metroid).

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

SubBronze

To be honest, I think CoD has become just about the most casual series on any current console. Everyone plays it, and most people enjoy it to a certain extent. It is very pick-up-and-play. It falls into every single category as casual in my books.

Sorry for going off-topic...
