I thought that the Wii version of Resident Evil 4 was by far the best version. By sacrificing movement while shooting it separated aiming from camera movement, getting rid of the deadzone problem many Wii shooting games had. Then they came out with Resident Evil 5 and I was disappointed to see that they chose graphics over gameplay. There is no motion controller on the Xbox 360 that could do for Resident Evil what the Wiimote did, and releasing a Move version isn't going to work either because no one actually bought that peripheral. I played through a co-op campaign with a friend all the way through and using a controller just didn't flow as well. With the Wii U on the horizon though, they could have their awesome graphics and motion controls just like RE4! Since RE5's kind of old now though, it may be a better idea to release a bundle of some sort with 5 and 6. I mean, they already made motion controls for the move, which isn't that different from a Wii Remote, they know how to make motion controls for the Wii already, and RE6 uses the same engine. Anyone else hoping this happens?
But as of now RE6 seems to take much time. They just released it for the Hd consoles ps3 and xbox.
So capcom has much to keep up. Two releases are missing out there for two other platforms.
Maybe a WiiU version will land in 2013 or 2014. Time will tell.
Well, I have no problem with RE5 or RE6 coming to the Wii U, but I for one don't like to use motion controls for shooting games. I tried a bit of RE4 on Wii, and I prefer a standard controller. Plus, with Resident Evil games, the shooting isn't supposed to super precise and tight, and with the Wii version, it made it very easy to pull off head shots one after another.
RE5 was great in my honest opinion, and I don't think it was ruined because it didn't use motion controls. I wouldn't be surprised if RE6 eventually shows up on the Wii U, but I doubt we'll see a re-release of Resident Evil 5. But who knows.

I loved RE4 on the Wii. I played RE5 on the PS3 (standard controls), thought it was decent, and would possibly give it another shot on the Wii U if it had motion controls. I hope RE6 comes to the Wii U though which I am sure it most likely will knowing Capcom.

According to a lot of reviewers, RE 5 and 6 stunk, so I don't think we will be missing out on too much if we don't get them.
So, you are saying your tastes in game are accurately reflected by reviewers? Anyway, I liked RE5 for the most part despite some of the negative reviews and perception. Also, since when is a score of 7.9 by IGN considered stinky?

And yet a 3.0 by Destructoid and a 4.5 from Gamestop isn't stinky?

You're saying you're tastes arn't? then I don't see how you like Resident Evil 5, because it got a score of 83 and 88 I think on metacritic for Xbox360 and PC respectivly, on games I own, I find I do tend to agree with the metacritic score more often than to.

Yeah thats nice, meanwhile the Xbox360 version sits at 67, and the fan rating sits at 0.4.
I certainly wasn't expecting that... Edit: oh wait, it changed to 0.5, and now has just under 2500 negative ratings... Something seem fishy about that...

I'm saying I don't want to play every 90+ game reviewed or give up on a game from a series I like because it got a couple of below average scores. So yeah, my tastes vary from reviewers.

I liked Resident Evil 5 on the PS3. Using it with the Move controller was amazing. So I would not mined if they released it on the Nintendo Wii U store as a cheap download tile. I would not pay £40/$60 for it as a retail title. Resident Evil 6 we should all pretend does not exist because its garbage.
there won't be motion controls for re6*. there was no move support for the ps3 version and that doesn't bode well for pointer controls on wii u. Mikami said that if they bring it to wii u he wants to use the gamepad uniquely and not just tack on touchscreen controls, which makes it even less likely that the game will allow an alternate remote scheme.
as far as re6 sucking is concerned, the reviews seem extremely consistent whether the score is high or low. every reviewer complains that the game is trying hard to be anything other than a resident evil game, aping every popular shooter from gears of war to call of duty and doing a mediocre job of it. capcom apparently gutted almost all of the horror and puzzle elements and for the sake of getting more action fans on board, so it pretty much boils down to running through room after room shooting things until the next boss fight... over and over again... and that's it.
i kind of hope the game doesn't sell well so that capcom learns their lesson that going further in the action direction will result in less sales, not more. i still want to try it and see how it plays for myself but after re5 sold more than any other game in the series i have no doubt that the reviews are right about capcom killing the horror elements off completely.
