[Qoute]Nintendo has all but phased out the white 8GB version of the Wii U, a system that retailers seemed to begin dumping this past spring. That "basic" version of Nintendo's console had originally sold for $299, sans pack-in game. "That has largely sold through in the marketplace," Fils-Aime said. "There is not much of that particular configuration out and we don't expect there to be much at all come September 20."[/Qoute]

So is it just the standalone that's been cancelled or is this old inventory?

Weren't there articles about Nintendo taking the white models off shelves? Sounds like they repurposed those systems for these bundles.

Hmmm...maybe you're on to something.

Maybe that's what they meant by "rebalanced." Thought that was just PR mumbo jumbo but this would explain it.

Dont listen to Reggie. Also, they did cancel the "basic". These are bundles like everyody else has said. I'm just here to bad mouth Reggie. I still havent forgiven him for his E3 SSBB announcement like 5 years ago. Apparently I'm never getting over it.

Placeholder sig until I come up with something clever to say.
