That's the biggest danger for Nintendo. There was an article a few days ago on CNN saying that the Wii U was an "update for the Wii" and the reporter mentioned that he wasn't sure if that was good enough to "resurrect the Wii". That name is going to cause a lot of confusion to casual players.

And Swiket's news has confirmed that Nintendo has failed to differentiate the Wii U from the Wii in the last two years, and that is a major problem. There is no excuse for such confusion.

I haven't said anything about how the Wii U will go, but TV shows and news outlets confusing the Wii U for a Wii accessory is certainly not good. But thanks for letting me know what comments you authorize.

Did I ever quote you? I think not. And even if I did, assuming any outcome for the Wii U, good or bad, is pure ignorance. (And this topic was heading in that direction.)

If people confuse the Wii U with the Wii then they need to learn to read. Assuming that the person can read numbers, the 300+ price tag should make them very aware that looking into the Wii U is the only option to take when considering spending that amount of money for a hunk of plastic.

Also, back when the Super Nintendo was released, I'm pretty sure people were confused about whether or not that was the original "Nintendo".

Reporters don't even know the difference between Xbox and Xbox 360. And that didn't do much to "hurt" it's sales. The mainstream media is ignorant when it comes to video games. Remember that whole Mass Effect fiasco? How about that Animal Crossing City Folk segment where they said "This (Tortimer) is the guy investigators are looking for.", basically saying the Animal characters are "real life players". An "upgrade" to an iPad didn't stop the "new" iPad from selling... But as mentioned, let's wait and see how things go... It's June folks...

Well for one the new ipad never sells concurrent with the old model in retail stores. Even on apples website you can only get the ipad 2 used. That and the consumer has been conditioned to expect a new model every year sk there is no confusion. That's and they usenew ipad when explaining it. The xbox also didn't have this problem as the orgonal xbox. Was killed and taken off of retail stores as assonance as the 360 came out due to the nivida thong.

So try using better examples please.

I'm a little disappointed in the fact he said you can use it with your Wii, but whatever, he's encouraging the audience to buy the product, which is good.

I just wish these sorts of shows weren't so Attention Deficit Disorder-y. They can't spend more than 5 seconds on something without moving on to something else. Really depressing.
