Who knows? Let's get there and find out. I've signed and I support the boycott. I expect all it will ultimately achieve is another hiatus on games starring Rayman, but it's nice to dream.
What baffles me is we are telling Ubisoft that we are going to boycott them. Yet at the same time we are telling them that we will still buy your game if you release it on the scheduled date, if not then we will still boycott. But they still wont release it knowing these things!

By the time this maneges to reach Ubisoft February is probably over anyway.
Then have them release it in March - still 6 months early.
It's almost certainly not going to change anything, but doing nothing means no chance of anything changing.
Petitions are a waste of time; they are basically the the weakest and laziest way of objecting. Direct contact, or an organized boycott, is much more affective.

I don't see how 10,000 signatures would make a difference. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to petitions based around the gaming community, but I do know that it took 1 million signatures to get From Software to make a (bare bones) port of Dark Souls for PC. Also, does anyone remember the Modern Warfare 2 boycott? Well, here's how it went on PC:
So, I don't know. I understand people's frustrations, I just don't think it will make a difference.
If the petition doesn't work, then we will just have to speak with our wallets, and not pull them out when Legends does get released. Money is far louder than voice when it comes to business.

I highly doubt a boycott will work. People who TRULY want the game will buy it, regardless of the release date. And even if it DID work, all that could possibly do is hurt the developers.
I probably won't buy it. I've never been a Raymans fan but I was really looking forward to this, the hype, the demo, the graphics, the gameplay features etc. It really looks good and I've really prepared to buy it. What sucks is I actually traded in my NSMBU game for a giftcard to purchase Rayman JUST before they delayed it! That got me something rotten! It's not that I'm bitter... just by the time it IS released the enthusiasm will have dissipated and I just won't bother with it! That means I probably won't buy any future releases too. O well. Their loss!

I'm not going to purchase something due to guilt.

Then don't? All I'm saying is a boycott is very unlikely to work, and even if it did work, all it would do is hurt the developers, and perhaps even make the publisher question whether or not the Wii U is a viable platform for them.
Hurt the developers like their feelings? I'd be surprised if their futures rest upon the performance of this one game, but if so, well they'll hopefully get jobs with a more intelligent employer.

A niche title like Rayman (2.5D platformer) needs all the sales it can get.
why would anyone sign that???? it isnt even a big deal if other companies get the game as well... and it would have been stupid for ubisoft NOT to do this, they would make waaay less money. its just the smart choice
Hmm, I should probably pick up multiple copies of this game and give friends the extras, make up for a few of the sales that silly people are refusing to make. I at least plan to get as many people to buy it as I can, start trying to advertise it to people that otherwise would've overlooked it.
