Topic: Rant: Mario Kart 8 GLA DLC negative feedback

YOU MEAN NINTENDO IS GETTING PAID BY MERCEDES TO HAVE A KART THAT LOOKS LIKE A MERCEDES CAR!!! Why is anyone supose to care? If you like the way the Kart looks/drives use it. If not then don't. Something like this doesn't fragment online communities and the kart (as far as I can tell) is completely balanced in the game. If it was the best kart then I could see some problems (not much as it is free DLC). This is an easy way for Nintendo to make some money while giving players more options when it comes to customization. What is so wrong about this? It isn't like everyone is forced to use it... (Ok now when/if NA gets the DLC I might make a tournament of just this kart... if I can do that)

I find this to be an acceptable complain if the people complaining haven't bought pointless merchandise before.

So, almost no one who cares enough to be needlessly mad at this.

It'd be something else entirely if it was Super Mercedes Kart. There would be a real problem if For Glory mode made any kind of impact on For Fun mode. But bickering about being given too few options, and then bickering about receiving more options? I really wish the gaming community was made of sharper minds, but alas.

Wasn't there a Metal Gear where you ate Doritos? At least MK8 isn't doing something like that.

You know, Sonic 06 is probably the worst example you can give, because it sucks so bad nobody cares, so I will give you better.

By their logic, The Last of Us is biggest sell out ever. I mean, product placement of Dell and HP, the offices are full of this stuff. You can say that also about most shooter, because they have product placement too.
TMNT2 sucks too, because it has Pizza Hutt. The Sims suck too. Same with Gran Turismo, Burnout, Need for Speed, Forza 5, etc., you name it.
Sony, Microsoft are sell outs too, giving away with doritos, taco bells etc.

They are just called stupid people. There should be an island without internet connection for them.

I can understand complain like "it doesn't fit", because it looks lazy and phoned in - IF it would've been done better, I would have no complains about it. But it's free, so who cares.

I just went to McDonalds and they were giving out Nintendo toys with their Happy Meals! I was pissed!

None of the good shooters have product placement as far as I know. (Maybe excluding the Goatse Doom Wad).

The advertising for Malboro in Pole Position was ok as well.

Why not add it to NES remix as a free update makes perfect sense right ?

To be honest this partnership shows Nintendo's health as a company and this free DLC should be seen as an overall positive thing. People will find anything to complain about.

No it doesn't, because you are now just saying random stuff in an effort to validate your hate for a harmless sponsor dlc in a mario kart game.

I mean I'm not a fan of this but this is at worst, an extremely LOOOOOOW level of evil, even by the standards of game companies.

There is only evil and not evil. (Advertising and Marketing of all types falls under evil).

If they had spent the money they spent on advertising on the game it could have had 128 tracks or whatever.

Only need marketing when you have a poor product. If your product is the best you don't need marketing.
