Hey guys. So I picked up a Wii U at launch and while i had fun with it, I just wanted more at the time. Eventually sold it for a PS3 and last of us and some more games. Well fast forward to now, I have a 2DS, a PS4, and now I just picked up another Wii U due to the awesome games now released on it. Well I have a problem, my Nintendo Network ID was appareantly still on my old Wii U...I called Nintendo and they are transferring that ID to my new Wii U but it might take a few days. I REALLY want to play Super Mario 3D World and Zelda Wind Waker HD which I picked up for the system. Currently I just have a BS Wii U profile (not an online one) I am using until my real one is restored.

My question is...If I was to start playing those games, once I did get my original network ID back and I deleted this account I am using now from my Wii U system...will my saves still be there? I do not want to start the games if the saves arent going to be accessible by my normal Nintendo ID account. Please let me know, cause I did try them both out just to see how they are and man they look incredible. Im dying of anticipation to play them, but would rather wait for my Network ID if it means I will lose my data once I delete that other Wii U profile. Thanks alot in advance

Saves are local to the machine as far as I can tell so unless you saved them to an external hard disk (which you still have) you're out of luck. To be honest I don't even know if anything backed up to a hard drive would work with another Wii U provided your NNID was transferred there. Nintendo really needs to get NNIDs transferable and to make the whole backup process more straightforward.

Some games have shared save files, others have separate save files per user and others have some combination of the two. So maybe, maybe not. Depends on the game.

Some playlists: Top All Time Songs, Top Last Year
"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

Ah sorry I misread that as being an assumption about save data being out in the cloud as it were. It's a good question - let us know what happens after your account gets re-linked to your new Wii U. I'd probably refrain from putting too much time into the game using your temporary account just in case,
