I played Rayman Legends at my GameStop.
I initially hated the feel of the GamePad. I love it now, though. It has a glossy top, but a matte bottom. I hated it at first because I bought a gimp GCN controller (styled to look like a Wii Classic Controller Pro) that had the same finish (glossy top, matte bottom). It is extremely light and I love the feel of the buttons. The ZL and ZR buttons are similar to those on the Circle Pad Pro. Overall, I liked the Rayman Demo, but was more excited to hold the GamePad.
The touch screen felt great as did the analog sticks. The button placement felt natural and comfortable as did the rest of the buttons. Width-wise, it felt bigger than I imagined while length-wise it was comfortably smaller.
All in all, I am greatly amazed with the GamePad and cannot wait until Nov. 18. Wii U forever!
BTW, I did take pictures, but I'm voice-chatting on Pokemon White with my girlfriend, so I can't upload them now.

Well I went to my Target today and they had the Wii U demo set up. They didnt have a game on it but I got to hold the Wii U controller in my hand and I have to say it didnt feel as uncomfortable or heavy in my hands as I though it would. Hopefully next time they will have some games going.

My guess is, based on the news of the DAy 1 Update for the Wii U, the demo stations will get the update along with new demos on or around launch. Hopefully this also means the home consoles will get all the demos the store consoles get. At least, I hope so; even if I'll have a couple games right off the bat, I wouldn't mind demos of upcoming games.

Is it not LONG though?
Generally speaking, it felt as long as I expected, but not as tall as I expected, so it was ultimately smaller than what I expected. It's quite wide. Ever mess around with a Microsoft Surface? It's sort of like that.

I meant the console itself, from tray to rear
It looked like a Wii with curved edges.
