Topic: Public Wii U demo's?

So does anybody know if their will be any in-store set-ups for people to try out the console any time before launch, like at GameStop, Walmart, etc? Not too concerned, but it would be nice to get a feel for what's coming and what to expect on launch day

I tried it out at Nintendo World but I guess that's only useful if you live in New York.

I'd ask for your impressions, but I'm the end, hands-on is the only way for me to get an accurate idea of something. The Phantom Menace is the bane of the series to most Star Wars fans, but it's my favorite in the series.

Guy at GameStop today said 2,000 stores will be getting them on Nov. 8th and all others will have them within a week after release. He said roughly 1 store in small towns, 2-3 per city depending on size.

That's nice to hear. Although if I'm right I'll be on vacation in Florida during that week. Ah well, not like it's going anywhere after a week. Maybe I'll even see one in Florida!

I know I'm running to my GameStop on November 8th then. What is that...a...THURSDAY?! YESSS!! I can make a quick run to GameStop and mess with the Wii U 10 days before its release!

Cool! I'll have to drop by a GameStop sometime around November 8th then. @WingedFish true, I doubt this too.

I vaugely recall some 3DS kiosks being set up in Disney World at one of the stores at or around the time the 3DS launched. It may have been in one of the Downtown Disney stores but I can't recall for sure. Maybe they'll do that with the WiiU as well. I'm in Disney World next week and I'll try to remember to keep an eye out for it. (Probably too early though)

The PR Director of Ninty Australia said their strategy is to get the Wii U in the hands of the regular consumer where they can before launch. I would think that other territories would be similar.

Well there is the rumor that on Wednesday we will see demos at Gamestops and Best Buys.

Yeah, @SolxBurst, I'll be at a Best Buy on Wednesday, so I'll confirm or deny that rumor then.

Since it isn't going to be a launch title, it will not happen, but it would make my day if Pikmin 3 was one of the opening demos. But it's undoubtedly going to be NSMBU, which will still be nice to try out. All in all, I'm excited to actually test out the feel of a Wii U.

Well okay I'm kidding, but I'm still disappointed. I thought a Wii U demo would be at my local Best Buy today, and I even had my mom with me so I could show her how the system works (I've been explaining to her about it, but showing it would be a lot better). But sadly it wasn't there yet. They said the Nintendo people will be there soon to set it up, likely before the week is out, but still I'm rather sad at the moment...

Same here! I was very excited to try it out, but there was only a poster with the Wii U on it..
