I saw this earlier today and thought it was just some website trying to get hits with a made up story that could get picked up by bigger websites, but I've had some friends say their orders with Game have been dispatched today.
It's great some of us will get this to play during our Christmas break, but... kind of a massive marketing mess?
Publishers don't usually send stock out more than 2 weeks before the release date. Game don't usually break the release date either. Sure they send stuff out on a wednesday to make sure people get it on the friday of release, but I've not heard of them sending stuff out earlier than that.

Bigger ones do (like Sony), but that's not the point. Think about it like this - if they wouldn't send it out to retailers/shops/whatever now, then when? 24-28 is out of the question, because everything closed. And if they sended it out on 29th, there would be no way in hell it would reach them for 2nd of January.
Things are only closed on Christmas day and Boxing day. Everything else is a normal working day. We'll see, I guess, but I don't think Game would break street date like that.

"MCV has been told that all UK online retailers have now been given the nod to begin shipping Captain Toad as they see fit, ahead of the new UK launch date of Monday December 21st".
Meanwhile in Australia they've just confirmed the release date for January 3rd..... because they couldn't have released it a few days earlier so I could take advantage of the Nintendo Network Premium promotion.....

Amazon.co.uk have told me they are not sending out my copy till the 1st Jan despite me telling them Ninty have now released the game and I don't think sending the game out on a bank holiday will mean I will get it the next day.
