Hi,

The Pro controller that comes with the Wii U ZombiU bundle is this just the Nintendo Wii Pro controller that is currently available to buy now with bundles like Monster Hunter Tri ect. Or is this a new one for the Wii U also is it wireless?

I don't really see what you can do with the Pro controller than you can't do with the Wii U pad. It has the exact same button layout.

I think its just more comfortable for, say, a FPS. The gamepad is much bulkier if you are not using the screen.

or more the fact that the GamePads are expensive, you can only have two and four player local multi is a standard feature of modern consoles.

What's the price difference between this and the Wii CC?
I would just get the normal Wii one if it's going to be more pricey. They're too similar.

The Wii U Pro controller differs from the classic controller mainly in that it has clickable sticks.
I haven't seen any reviews or impressions about the controller, so I don't have a clue if it has any motion sensors (like the GamePad has) but I have a feeling it's just a regular controller.

It could be a typo, but it would be nice if it was compatible with existing Classic Controllers! The Classic Controller Pro is great, but it's got to be the most under used controller that I have ever owned.

@ocelot20 This is a great Nintendo forum. You've got the whole range here. You've got people who flat out hate Nintendo, people with awesome opinions, OlympicCho (or Waltz), people who are die-hard Nintendo fans, people who couldn't care either way, teens, children, older folks, people who own their own website, people who might as well be full of sawdust, people who love every system ('cause they're rich...)... I think you'll quite enjoy it here.

And you don't even have to like Nintendo to be here. It's the great gaming melting pot... I don't even know why PushSquare exists. They should call this GamersLife and just have separate sections for the Big Three...

Anyway... I'm getting the Pro Controller. I really want to play with my family and the one game they've announced that uses it as an alternative to the WiiRemotePlus/Nunchuck option (Call of Duty Black Ops 2), seems more economical than buying the other two pieces of hardware...

I think I would like to have two Pro controllers in the long run, along with two Gamepads, once they start selling them by themselves. I already have four wii remotes, two classic controllers and two classic controller pros.

I'm sure a lot of the Wii U games within the first year or two will still support the Wii's classic controller pro, same as Wii games supported gamecube controllers are first. But games like Call of Duty will be much better with the Wii U Pro controller, due to clickable joysticks.

I hope the Wii U Pro controller has gyro / motion sensors and analog trigger buttons. I also wish it had an IR sensor on the top, but I already know that it doesn't. Then you could separate aiming and turning, which for me, I would love that. In real life you can hold the gun anywhere and look anywhere. And I really don't see why it would be a problem to aim using a controller instead of a remote. If anything it would just make you more accurate because you're using two hands to aim instead of one.

Theoretically, this is possible with the GamePad. I don't think it was implemented in the way you wanted, but it is technically possible. That'd be pretty cool. As for analog triggers, I could care less. I played WipEout on the PSVita at GameStop (PSVita has analog shoulder buttons, who knew?) and being able to slow down didn't help much. Games could make better use of them, but in a game like CoD, I want instant shooting. I don't want to have to worry about the .00000002 seconds it'll take for me to actually hit the button.

Well, yeah, there are plenty of games that don't benefit from analog triggers at all. But it's great for racing games, and it would be allow you to play gamecube games with original controls.

You're right, it would be possible with the gamepad. And I guess the Wii U Pro controller, too, if it had all the motion / gyro sensors in it. It just wouldn't be pixel perfect like it is with the IR sensor / sensor bar. But it would still work, like aiming in Skyward Sword.

I agree. The Pro controller would be perfect with motion sensors, IR and analog triggers. Also the GamePad needs analog triggers (if only for Gamecube VC, but for other uses too).
Is there any official word or confirmation about the analog triggers?

The aiming in Ocarina of Time 3D worked really well in my opinion.
I've been thinking about something similar: one stick to move and sidestep, the other to turn the camera, and motion to aim the gun's reticule.
It would be perfect (at least in my head).
