Oh, I thought it was on America Sunday night.

I guess I'll see the news Sunday morning then.

Just had a thought. I'm going out on a limb here, but I recall Miyamoto once saying he'd like to try making an FPS title, and as is he's making a new IP as we speak. So could the game be Miyamoto's new project and it turning out to be an FPS? I highly doubt Miyamoto would unveil his newest creation, FPS or not, at a dudebro event like this, but you never know.

Avian fact of the week: The Moa, an extinct relative of ostrichs and emus that inhabited New Zealand, was the tallest bird that ever lived at 12 ft tall (3.6 m). It was also the only known bird to have no wing structure.

^it'd make sense to Miyamoto to unveil it if it's a FPS. 90% of the dudebros only care for either FIFA or FPS....

I would love to see what a fps game from the legend would be like.

I think it'll be zelda u with ridiculously realistic mature graphics. Nintendo isnt stupid, they know they need to start selling wii u's and they know what kind of people watch the vgx. It'll be Zelda U and maybe a smash bros trailer

I have to agree with you. Though we can't stereotype the entire audience that will end up watching, we can certainly say VGX is targeting a rather specific demographic, and to show Smash Bros. or a realistic-looking Zelda would be a great way to get Nintendo some attention. I just came here after watching a rather nice video on IGN about the state of the Wii U, and the comments section was full of opinions along the lines of "The new Mario game may have gotten good reviews, but I'm not 12 anymore." THIS is EXACTLY how most gamers feel about the Wii And Wii U, but there are certain titles that retain that broad appeal - Zelda and Smash are definitely two of them.

I took it as its going to be a live appearance as opposed to it being a recorded segment

and that's exactly why they're immature, a real mature person will be itself regardless of the age. tastes have nothing to do with age or maturity.

Honestly much like we do with every Nintendo Direct, I think we're just going to build up our expectations too much only to be let down. I'd love nothing more than to see a Zelda U trailer, but it probably is just going to be a new DK trailer or at a push, MK8 or Smash Bros (which would be neat in itself)

I really don't know what to expect. It may seem obvious to some what Nintendo "should" do, but Nintendo, for better or worse, is not so predictable in circumstances like this. Whether they're being experimental or simply disconnected from a particular audience (or both), Nintendo has often done things contrary to what others were expecting. Unfortunately, in the last couple years in particular, they seem to have been on a bad streak in terms of setting and meeting proper expectations.

I think you'll find that you're remarkably far off base with this prediction. Nintendo isn't going to degrade one of its flagship series to a generic washed-out brown gritty reboot of Zelda just to sell the Wii U to dudebros.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I do feel this would be a grave error on Nintendo's part. Sure, they could make Zelda a little grittier (Twilight Princess at most) but they've already learned that people who want the grittier stuff also just want what other people think is "cool" (e.g shooters, sandbox games, knack...lol). Nintendo has stuck to their element, and it's very unlikely they'll deviate too far to cater to people who'd whine and never buy Nintendo stuff anyway.

If they listened to everyone's "advice" all we'd be seeing is The Legend of Modern Warfare and MariOS.

Right. Even if you shaved Link's head, gave him a goatee, and made him perpetually scowling, the Call of Duty crowd still isn't going to buy the game if he doesn't have a gun or isn't dragonborn.

that second part isn't hard to achieve in a Zelda game that is, if dragonborn is what I think it is.....

Untitled I think I know what you mean. Just make Big Bird spit fire. Cause if all else fails, use fire.
Seriously, I'd love another Zelda in the line of Twilight Princess like the tech demo of 2011. But don't overdo it for dudebros, please.

You guys do realize that Skyrim is part of a larger game series... right? While the game did have massive popularity, so did Oblivion and Morrowind. It's because they set you in a mystical region to explore. People should really stop talking down on the series. It's actually really good if you take the time to sit and explore and learn about Tamriel's lore.

It looks like it. Rather odd if you ask me.

"Not recorded" means that his appearance is not a video. He's gonna make a live appearance

Actually, im right guaranteed. I'm saying a more mature Zelda, I meant an Ocarina of Time/Twilight Princess esque mature. Its going to be very real looking
