I doubt it will actually release in Q2, Q3 or Q4 seem more likely.

No way they rushed this thing out to E3 this year and not plan to launch it around or before E3 2012. I'd bet this thing is in stores in late May 2012.

I think that it'll come out in the fall.

I'm guessing May, but the timing just seems so akward...considering E3 would be 1 month away....Why do i get the feeling it will be delayed for 2-3 months after E3?

Anyways, I'm not exactly too excited for the WiiU at the moment, but that's because i need to get more out of my Wii. I've still got too many games i want to play and then some.

But that recent article about the WiiU having 3D technology has made me much happier....The WiiU Controller itself wasn't exactly the next gen leap i was expecting or hoping for, but i'm sure nintendy will come up with some brilliant innovations with it. but as long as the next 3D Zelda, Metroid Prime 4(for ex) support Wii Motion Plus/Nunchuck controls i"ll be happy.

I believe Nintendo will use E3 2012 to fully disclose the console and the launch line to boost the awareness. They should release after E3 but they might wait a few months as summer is not a great time for videogames. I would say August or September.

I tend to agree with Corbs. Because of it being rushed for E3 this year it might be on shelves sooner than we think.

I just hope (and pray) that the Wii U will have a stronger lineup of launch titles than the 3ds had. That's why I haven't invested in the 3ds yet, because Nintendo rushed to get the 3ds out without any decent games (imo). Out of the all the games available (not counting vc) for the 3ds, there is only 1 game (zelda oot) that I am interested in, and it's a remake. I, have to wait for the end of the year for the big titles to be launched before jumping on the 3ds cart. No point in having a brand new shiny console and no games to play on it. I really trust that things will be different with the Wii U.

Anyways, consoles will sell better with a major title (mario/metroid/zelda) along side of them.

I wrote elsewhere on this forum that the WiiU will be a day 1 purchase for me, but without a major titles at launch, that might not be the case.

I hope after their rushed launch with the 3DS they'll make sure there's more quality titles for launch with the Wii U. I don't mind waiting an extra 6 months for the console if it means I get more quality titles to choose from at launch.

I really hope it comes early, but it's highly unlikely. Late Fall seems right.

The 3DS came rather early but it has been struggling to get a hold. However, I remember the original DS having the same issues. Now look at software library and that is hard to imagine it. The RPG lineup for the DS is still the best compared to the current generation consoles (excluding re-releases).

I don't hope it comes too soon. Maybe then Nintendo will have a chance to lay the Wii to rest gracefully.

Yeah I totally agree, also. I just get excited for anything Nintendo.

The wii still has life in it, I have yet to beat a lot of the games that have released a few years ago!

Hm, as long as it isn't too much cheap hardware in a rushed plastic cocon. Aka, make sure the product is good, feels rigid and sturdy, does not have silly issues like sloppy wifi antenna's or weak disc drives, and definitely is tolerant in its usb drive connection feature you so proudly touted once.

I want it properly, so if that means a few months later... no problem.

I completely agree with you on not rushing things, definitely not on the web browser. But I've never had any problems at all getting a WiFi signal from my wireless router. And what is the usb port used for really, other than the WiFi adapter?

I'll say in between September 1 and October 30. E3 2012 will give us more information about games, controller, graphis and price so a Sunday in September or October.

they brought it to e3 because they were showing it to developers to get launch games started and knew that info on the system was going to be leaked (it was), so they showed it at e3 to preempt the rumors. they didn't have much to show, but if they had waited until next year the surprise would have been ruined, we'd already would have known what the system was.
