HI all

i got my kids a Wii U for Christmas and was trying to set up, yet for the life of me i can't get any sound to come out my speakers.

I have a Sony Multi Channel AV Receiver STR-DG510 http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=STR-DG510 and have a Panasonic TV that I've used for my past Wii and my PS3

The HDMI goes from the Wii U right to the TV. I have another HDMI that goes from the TV to the Receiver.

The Video works fine, as I can see the Wii U games, however, i try and do several different settings on the Receiver and it never has sound come out. I even changed the Wii U settings to Stereo, rather than Surround, and still nothing no matter if i have my receiver on CD, SAT, Video 1, etc.

It's driving me crazy. Please help!

You need to connect your Wii U directly to the reciever via HDMI. I actually just bought a new Pioneer reciever at Best Buy, because Wii U pretty much requires it... I didn't read your systems specifications, but any reciever w/ HDMI should work. Plug your Wii U into an HDMI IN on the back of your reciever, and plug in the reciever to your TV HDMI IN through the HDMI out. Put your TV on the HDMI input channel that is connected to your HDMI out on the reciever. If you did this, but it still isn't working, than your reciever is outdated. I'll take a look at the specs real quick...

Let me know if you add me.

There are games for Wii U, you know.
3DS XL is better than 3DS, IMO.
I'm all hooked up and ready to go.

I just looked at your reciever's specs, and it is an old reciever, but it WILL support surround sound for your Wii U, as it did for your PS3. If your PS3 is connected via HDMI, just copy or replace your PS3's connections for Wii U.
