For weeks now maybe even months I have not been able to use the Wii shopping channel on the Wii U. It just stays on the spinning blue circle just constantly spinning.
Has anyone else had this problem. I dont know what to do bar formatting my Wii U and starting again but I dont want to lose my game save data
Please help any one even the Writers of Nintendo Life I would be eternally grateful

Kinda same problem here, after 2-3 minutes of unskippable wait, I get an error message. However, it starts up when I reload it (booting it up a second time from the HOME menu.)
Miiverse has exactly the same problem.
Problem occured a few months ago. I hoped the Summer Update would fix this issue.
It worked great once, I wonder why it changed for the worse?

it doesnt even give me an error just stays on the spinning blue circle forever u have to switch off at wall to turn off wii u

Have you tried contacting Nintendo? They will probably be able to help you since it seems no one here has an answer.
