1st thing I bought after the direct being a massive Pikmin fan. I must say I was surprised by the quality of the storyboard/script, my GF loves Dreamworks/Pixar shorts and she said this was up there with the best of them. I won't post any spoilers but man they are worth your money as they are great and i'd really like to see Nintendo do more stuff like this.
I really wish there were more on the way as i really liked the humour and some of the animation conventions they broke to keep it in line with the game world (and vice versa). Seriously Nintendo needs to work with this company on some Zelda, Mario & Splatoon Shorts, and while their at it do some Fire Emblem stuff with the same style as the games cut scenes.
I really hope we get more Pikmin DLC,shorts or games before the next Nintendo home console.
I'm thinking about getting either the HD movie or 3D one, for those that have bought them, what are your thoughts? And if anyone has gotten both of them, which do you prefer?

These are HD quality movies IMO. There are so much details going on, so HD and a big screen.

But I hoped Miyamoto would announce a new DLC instead of a demo for Pikmin 3.
Pikmin 3 is a wonderful game and I would love playing more missions in the mission mode
I wish all people who want to watch the shortfilms actually payed for them, it's a nice price and if Miyamoto feels like there's a good response to them he (or some other talented person at Nintendo) might do some more. And that would be awesome
What's the 3D version like? Since everyone is talking about the HD ones. lol
The quality is still good (better than most of the compressed 3DS videos) and a couple of the 3D shots look fantastic, though the models seem so pretty and detailed and some of the shots look so huge, I wish I'd bought the HD version.
There were a couple of slightly drawn-out bits, but certainly not enough to detract from the films overall. For $5, worth it if you're interested. There are really great moments in these shorts.
sighs wished I could just see it online first before buying. >.>
Really don't wanna pay for something that I might end up watching once and never touch again.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Xiao_Pai I bought the 3D one for the 3D feature as it was something extra and there's no 3D movies for 3DS although I feel like I was led to believe that we'd enjoy 3D movies on 3DS before 3DS launched. The 3D here is decent and I'll revisit the app for a small chuckle now and then and enjoy the novelty of it as a Miyamoto movie.
I guess I should buy these! 5 dollars (I think that's the price) for 25 minutes of high quality short films is a pretty good price! Nintendo should do more cross media stuff like this! Although 1,7 gigabytes seems like a lot... Hmm.
Bought them today, and I really enjoyed them. I really liked a lot of the moments, and I just love the Pikmin. They're easily in my top ten favorite videogame characters. Also, Nintendo, please make more shorts like these with stuff like Mario or Kirby...or Earthbound. It would never happen but I'd love for it to.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
