I think people were thinking its gonna happen because of the 3DS's E3 announcement. Since part of the demo showed a pre-rendered(?) 3D image of Pikmin, when I think it really is just a completed puzzle panel.

I guess so, but for a while everyone thought it was going to be for Wii, too. I just don't understand why people would be disappointed. The 3DS came out four months ago, and there's no reason to think that Pikmin for 3DS is out of the question. I mean, Kid Icarus is coming back on 3DS, but that doesn't mean there can't be another one on Wii U.

It could happen, but Nintendo never said anything other than they're moving 3 to the U. Maybe they'll make Pikmin Portable/3D at some point. (...lol, Pikmin Portable, I like that. xD) Besides I wanna see this thing on the U more than the 3DS right now. Like I said, Pikmin 1 and 2 looked amazing, and that was on the GameCube...GAMECUBE. Imagine what it'll look like on the U!

It's not that I don't want Pikmin on the WiiU, actually, I'm really looking forward to seeing Pikmin III on the WiiU however, with the amazing visuals and graphical capabilities the 3DS is capable of it really would be exciting to see Pikmin in 3D on the 3DS.

and not a mud-map or symbol "road map" style map. A fully rendered "satellite image" style map that moves in real time according to what's on the ground including the fully animated real-time unveiling of said fully rendered map from under the fog of war.
Oh, except for the Pikmin and Olimar who would be highlighted in some way..........

No, fret not. I'm quite sure that Nintendo will strive to avoid the pitfall that the lackluster 3DS launch was. Nintendo will no doubt have quite a good first party line up for the WiiU at launch to atone for the disappointed 3DS and would-be (those who wanted to buy but were turned off by the launch) 3DS customers.
