After watching so many different fanbases see their long wished-for sequels become a reality over the years, it feels nice to finally be the one getting the game I've most hoped for!

Nintendo said it's one player only. My guess is there might be other modes you might be able to play with people.

Maybe those are Olmar's kids who came to save there DADDY!!

Not sure about ALL of them being his children, but that one character (i think he wears a blue outfit) looks similar to Olimar, so perhaps that is his son? Also, in the Pikmin 3 Captains artwork picture, that last captain reminds me of the President of Hocotate Freight. Maybe the President's son is one of the captains as well? Probably not, but that would be interesting.

Olimar is my favourite Nintendo Character and this game was a first day purchase for me but after seeing the Trailer I won´t get this. I won´t support a game that should have featured my favourit character and than replaced him by some ugly nerds.

If so,Olimar's kind must breed like rabbits.

I'm excited to see just how great this game can look. It already looks like a pure gem! The boss battles especially are going to be epic.

And I have to say this- it looks like a spruced up game for Wii.. Not that it's an OMG bad thing, but you can tell...

I've said this numerous times but I'll say it once more. Olimar has only two kids, so the other two have to be their friends/relatives or somewhere along that line. And the story line most likely is that Olimar takes the four with him to the planet as a vacation and then the ship malfunctions mid-flight, crashing into the planet and scattering everyone. After regrouping, they notice Olimar is missing, and have to find him. That's just one of my best guesses.

My guess is along those lines too. The two boys are his kids...maybe...at least the small one, the woman is his wife, and the bald guy is the President of his company.

No, it can't be two boys. Remember he has a son and a daughter, so the little pink haired would be his daughter, the other small one his son, and the other two are whatever.

Here is my theory on who the 4 captains in this game are. I used the two pictures below to help me determine this.

Captain D = Wasn't too sure on this one. Maybe a friend of Olimar's children or Louie's son?
Captain A = Olimar's son
Captain B = Olimar's daughter
Captain C = The president of Hocotate Freight's son, or perhaps even the President himself?

That's right. Well, I still think the one is the president guy...not so sure about the other one...maybe Olimar's brother just to throw something out there.

You know how some of the areas in Pikmin 2 are basically the same as Pikmin 1 but a little changed? Ex: Distant Spring is Perplexing Pool
Well what if in the new game with the new protagonists you return again but they're drastically different? Like if the water area I just mentioned is now a harsh desert and one of the treasures is a fossilized remain of say a Wollywog, or a shearwig preserved in amber? That would be so cool! And maybe bulblaxes have returned to the Final Trial/Wistful Wild and maybe it just so happens that it's mating season! G-d I can't wait for this game! Pikmin 2 coming out tomorrow isn't helping either!

IGN Confirmed that Pikmin 3(and this is a first time for the pikmin franchise) is running in 60fps. We'd be seeing more 60fps based titles if the crazy GamePad wasn't juicin' so much power out of the Wii U. Probably old news to most, but new to me nonetheless considering i haven't been keeping up with all of the extra interviews that were held after E3.

That aside, it's been confirmed that all Wii U launch titles will instead only be '720'p with possible 1080p titles on the horizon. I guess HDTV owners with larger sized displays or who like to sit close to their HDTV's may have a problem with this, for me it's not that big of a deal. But i'm now questining if i should instead go for a 50" HDTV instead of a 55" hmmm, INtense decisions...tisk tisk..

So is Ultra-realism used for the Pikmin game environments?

You realise how immersive playing a game in 1080p can be considering you can 'sit closer to the screen' in comparison to 720p? On a big screen with the lights dimmed it can be pretty damn amazing. 'That's why i'm interested, not because of 'Hurrr Hyper realism', a lot of people around here know that i don't care for that crap. Aside from viewing more detail it's really about being able to get a large screen display without noticing the pixels(like you would with a 720p game sitting too close to the screen) depending on your viewing distance.

Anyways, Realistic graphics don't interest me(Resident Evil may be an exception, along with other horror based titles), i'm into surrealism and Pikmin is just another fantastic example. Anyways, Pikmin 3 looks absolutely gorgeous. It's pretty funkin' amazing to see what the Big N can do with that much power. Can't wait to use the Wii remote Plus with this one, but I'm still curious to see what the gamepad has in store innovation wise.

lol. Sorry i shouldnt of said 'only' 720p is good enough! I was just throwing it down because I'm sure there are many people on here who thought Wii U titles
would in fact be 1080p since the res' is supported.
