ok so I just bought Zelda Wind Waker HD and Donkey Kong Tropical freeze. I began to relax as I booted up Wind Waker HD on the Wii U and as soon as I do it said make sure I had a controller that's compatible with the game. I was about to use my wii - wii u classic controller combo. I was excited cause I mean that controller had been working on smash bro's, kart 8 and 3d world. I really enjoy that controller as well. So I was like wtf.. well maybe it's cause it prefers to use the gamepad for the items? so I kinda shrugged it off. Then later that day I'd went to play Donkey Kong and literally the same thing happened! It's just weird how these games aren't compatible. Another game I'd like to get is Yoshi's Wooly World, and that's somehow completely compatible.. which is great. but makes it confusing. Can they not patch this or something somehow?
How aren't these controllers compatible?
can someone do this or something. Besides the fact that I don't want to buy a Pro Controller, still Imo classic controller > pro controller
its a beaut, I mean maybe they should continue it for the switch, but possibly re-allocate the d-pad to where the left analog stick is and vise versa, while keeping the right side the way it is. kinda switch pro-ish, would be awesome.
but does anyone know if theirs a possibility of them changing these games controllers?
They won't update those games to add extra controller support.
Some games are compatible, others aren't; It was up to the developer to decide. The wiiu is already dead weight, and nintendo doesn't really patch that kind of things into their games anyway.
I really like the wii u games though, imo the gamepad might be the dead weight cause it's 480p. I was thinking it'd be at least like.. 600p or something before I bought it never checked
but I guess your right just not sure what the developers were thinking when so many games already can use more than gamepad/pro controller. D: thx
I too think that all games that support the Wii U Pro controller should have supported the Wii Classic Controller (and the pro version of it). It definitely would have made things less confusing, instead of letting developers choose they should have embedded this in to the Wii U OS.
A couple of games did get this controller support patched in....I am pretty sure this happened on NSMBU.
Some games launched with classic controller support.
It seemed like they would only really support it if it was a multi-player heavy game where you might need extra controllers.
