Ok so I used the wrong word... My point still stands. I've been playing essentially the same games since Gamecube, with a few others here and there. They are great games still, but I don't get excited AT ALL anymore about any of them..

So are you disappointed by 95% of games in general? Originality is a thing of the past now

Doesn't the fact it started development right after Ocarina of Time 3D make it more likely that some inside information was involved?

I mean, if it was started just a few days or weeks ago, sure... but a secret being kept from Nintendo fans for ages? It's not impossible that information came out.

They could always have been told to remove them by Nintendo due to some NDA agreement or something. It's not impossible.

Retailers weren't getting word of a Luigi's Mansion release for the Wii U over a year ago, with nothing concrete since then.

Someone took a guess at it since it seemed plausible that something might be on the near horizon, and a few others followed just in case with equivalent listings. Obviously the lack of anything since then is all the confirmation we needed that Nintendo wasn't preparing retailers for an upcoming Wii U release so that it would be entered in their systems.

Until something that says otherwise happens here, I bet it's similar. People expect a Mario RPG for the Wii U, so this particular retailer is just assuming that something likely will be happening on that front in the coming months.

That, or someone just plain screwed up.

I'll give you that Sticker Star's writing doesn't hold a candle to the first two's writing, but Super Paper Mario had absolutely phenomenal writing. I think it was on par with the first two games'. It got a bit lengthy at times, but I liked that.

I think you got confused.

Really? Last time I checked I wasn't.

Super Paper Mario had engaging characters and surprise twists. I think the main complaint is that Mario wasn't even necessary to the story.

Sticker Star was not engaging, and this is bad for a series that has had engaging stories.

I enjoyed Sticker Star. The lack of leveling which was the common complaint didn't hurt it one bit where I was concerned since leveling never entered the equation in past games.

Maybe I just got lucky despite having never played any other line of JRPG's, but I always seemed to have enough health and such to get by through games like Paper Mario 64. The leveling statistics weren't much more than numbers and rarely seemed to impact how I played. Just sticking with a balanced approach seemed to be all it took.

So that it was gone with Sticker Star was all but meaningless. But some fans just couldn't look past that, despite how unimportant it really was in a game like The Thousand Year Door.

Your post made me realize it's approaching two years since Luigi's Mansion 2 came out.

Where's my Mario Strikers U, Next Level Games?!

Your point doesn't stand at all, the games are quite different. If you don't like Nintendo then go buy a PS4.

I hope we see Paper Mario in an hour.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Um...well I was talking about TTYD and Super Paper Mario. Because they were the ones on the GCN and Wii, respectively. Because the first Paper Mario was on N64.

Kinda odd that despite being one of my favorite games of all time that I don't think the first game has the best writing. But Paper Mario 1 is one of those games I fully enjoy regardless of logic so whatever. Like I do post-commentary on a Let's Play of it, and I am way less tolerant about the game talking about it then I am actually playing it, it's kinda funny. It's like I enjoy even the lesser and boring parts of the game (though to be fair, most of Paper Mario is excellent even ignoring my nostalgia bias).

I really want them to try a story like Super again. It had a really strong call to action, such that I always wanted to keep going. It was filled with interesting characters too.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

I misread that post really badly. Sorry for acting like a jerk. I will now delete that post.
