But a Turn-based Famicom Wars would work well on a dual screen console, and Battalion Wars tanked. Twice.

Yeah but Battalion Wars would be good on Wii U the series compliments the gamepad well plus it could have an interesting online component.

I can agree with that.

By that logic, it's NOT Paper Mario because the series also had a recent game

Yes and no. Of the four titles listed by iKhan, three have had recent games. Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are the ones most due for sequels (Fire Emblem especially, since a new one comes every 2-3 years or so and Awakening came in early 2012). That said, Advance Wars has been on a hiatus of sorts since early 2008 so it's as unpredictable as Star Fox and F-Zero. There's no guarantee it'll end up on Wii U over 3DS either since both modern consoles haven't seen a Wars game. SMT x Fire Emblem is already announced, but whether or not that actually constitutes the next Fire Emblem game remains to be seen. That leaves us with Paper Mario, which came out in late 2012, and Wario Ware (again, if you consider that a "Wario Ware" game), which came out in mid-2013. So, Paper Mario wins purely via ambiguity.

If Paper Mario came out on Wii U in late 2014 or early 2015 though, it would be the soonest sequel in the franchise for whatever that's worth. Granted, some would argue that Nintendo is inclined to release more Mario games with the Wii U in its current state.

Okay. Wasn't sure if something funny was going on. I only had 3 people blocked last I checked...

I didn't know you could block people here... How do you do that?

By the way, I'm sure his avatar is like that because when I had an avatar with transparency, the bottom of it had a black line to indicate where it starts.
So I'm guessing that having your whole avatar transparent makes it appear black on your profile.

Like many have said I'd love a sequel with the gameplay from the original and TTYD game. I really liked the original, despite copying the story of Mario RPG. And TTYD had a lot of fun elements, like Luigi's story, and the fact that you could play once you had beaten the game!

As long as it's not as boring/ tedious as the Wii entry, I'm OK.

It's more of a mental block than anything else. I just use adblock to block the avatar, and then I ignore anyone with a blank avatar. I've gotten really effective at it - once I got my new comp, I had to redo all my blocks and I was shocked to find a few users were still here and I never realized it. Makes me wonder how long Ark has been posting here and I never noticed...

As of now I'm not excited for Paper Mario I did not enjoy the Wii version, or the 3DS one they were terrible and worst part was paying full price for Sticker Star. Unless it goes back to the original style of gameplay I won't be interested in it. Luckily I have Child of Light that game is amazing!!!

Really? I love Super Paper Mario. The story was great, and I think most would agree it had some of the strongest writing in the series. Also, if you ask me, action is always better than turn-based

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

@iKhan TBH IDK why I didn't like it (had nothing to do with the gameplay well except the fact that they have HP so you have to stomp on a goomba more than once and I was like WTF!?), I just know when the game was over I felt empty on the inside.

The downfall of sticker star was the lack of creativity and stages. If there was a a Paper Mario U, i sure hope it would be free roam with the wacky characters like in past games.

Some, but not all, of which can be attributed to the fact it was on a handheld i.e portability, which they even said was their principle aim in the Iwata asks I think. So yeah I agree, put it on Wii U and you can chock the world full of side quests, partners and the like.

I loved Super Paper Mario, but I'll admit that I was pretty sick of it by the end. Guess you could say it overstayed its welcome?

I don't see how 'being on a handheld' means 'lack of creativity'. Are you forgetting that all Mario & Luigi games are handheld titles or something?

P.S. If you're wondering why the second one is a Dutch trailer, I found it more entertaining than the American trailers for the game. Shows more of the experience.

In a world where Mario & Luigi games exist on handhelds, where creative titles like Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and the Wario Land series are great handheld games and where Pokemon's existed on handheld consoles for years, it's complete crap to assume that Paper Mario being on a handheld console means it needs to be less creative or have a New Super Mario Bros style stage/level format.
