Topic: organising tournaments

So basically, I was thinking to arrange a Mario Kart/and or/ Smash Bros tourney in my local area (local area being central London!).

Anyway I was thinking like the winner would get a Wii U and runners up copy of the game. It would be around the launch date. I would arrange it on a Sat/Sun if I can and be held in a pub function room if possible. (Have recently been made aware of a gaming bar near me but have yet to go (they do a lot of Dota & LoL stuff).

Say like £2 entry to the competition to go towards the prizes.

It would be:

1. Be real fun/ get to know people.
2. Generate some hype and advertising for Nintendo I guess.

Issues I can see is that it might be dominated by 'pro' players. This is not for money nor fame lol.

Has anyone here ever done this. Is there any way to get blessing from Nintendo? (Been to a few events before in bars where they had playable demos and competitions etc.Not sure who organises it though?) Prob not neccasery though.

Also if anyone in London would want to arrange this with me holla back.

I think there is a group called DS London who do similar events with Nintendo try hitting them up on Twitter or facebook for advice.

Yeah DS London just put out that is having an MK8 Meetup in North London!
