Topic: Ok to interrupt Wii -> Wii U transfer on final step?

So I've gone through the steps to transfer my Wii data to my Wii U. I've had to disable my security on my router just to get it to work.

I'm on the last step (or at least I think it's the last step) and my SD card is in my Wii U, and all the Pikmin are unloading boxes to the Wii U. Progress is stuck at 61% b/c I (once again) cannot connect to the internet.

I'm wondering if it's ok if I just halt the process to play a Wii U game or just turn off the system as I sleep overnight, etc? Will it corrupt the SD card? Will I only have to start over the last step at 0%? Will it continue from 61%? etc etc.

I was only able to find one other thread about this via google, but it wasn't resolved. So any input is appreciated, thanks!

That doesn't sound like a good idea to me... It's often a good idea to just try and wait stuff like this out. Usually for me, when this kind of thing happens, if I just give it enough time it finally manages to finish. (Or gives an error, but if that were the case it would probably safely exit the process) Especially don't do anything if it tells you not to remove the SD card or turn off the power, etc. If it doesn't ever finish, I'd try contacting Nintendo. They have some excellent tech support.

thanks for the quick reply.

I will add, when I get the connection error (either 052030 or 051330) it does prompt 2 options of To Wii Menu and Try Again. I'm ASSUMING To Wii Menu is a safe option or else it wouldn't be one at all. However, you are right, I like to play it safe - I will keep Try Again-ing tonight hoping it works in the next few hours lol

And Nintendo support may be an option if this isn't resolved by tomorrow morning

edit:
guess I "fixed" it by changing the Network Channel from 1 to 11 (Nintendo recommends either...I had it on 1 the entire time before it stalled progress). Not sure if the fix was that change or just coincidental... oh well. sigh Nintendo, at least this hassle of a transfer mess will probably be worth it!

edit2:
ok, nvm...it got stuck again at 75%, but not b/c of connection errors. Just said error occurred, please restart the system and I had to hard reboot the Wii U... pending update later, I'm sure. (seriously, why is this such a silly and difficult process? I knew it was stupid before I even got a Wii U, didn't realize this would happen).

edit3:
so after restarting, it allowed me to resume the transfer, although it already had a lot of games transferred and ready to play. after resuming took just a minute to reach 100% and it all seems fine and dandy now!
