I hear articles like this each week, it means nothing to me anymore because I live by this theory
Console + Revelution = Best
from what I see the Wii u has that wow-factor that can be called "revolutionary"

DOOOOOOMED!!
Clock speeds are pretty much near useless today.
A higher clock speed doesn't mean a better processor.
Isn't that right dual core clocked at 3.0GHZ compared to my qaud core clocked at 2.0GHZ.

Plus the Wii U might be undercloked like the 3DS.
Who really wants to cook bacon on a games console other than Playstation 3 owners?

I'll just set the clock to whatever time I like. Midnight or something.

It's about architecture, not clock speed. Also, the gpu will affect games more than the cpu will. Don't worry about the Wii U being underpowered just because of a relatively low clock speed.

Lots of censorship here...

LOL, reading all these comments I would say best move for Nintendo would be to keep with the Wii forever, who needs anything more powerful than it?? They can put a flower on top of the Wii, rename it as WiiF and you will have all the fanboys buying it first day.

But the Wii's clock is too fast! That doesn't solve anything >:[

Have you ever re-read your own posts on this site, even just once? Because if you did, you'd realise you come off as an ignorantly illogical biased user, and would get sick of your own squeaky typing within minutes.

@Mandoble I think you're making an over-generalization

As for the article, comparing clockspeeds to the PS3 is useless since they both use different architectures. I'm starting to get irked by the varying performance evaluations that developers claim. Harada doesn't even sound sure if it's slower. What did Nintendo do, offer different development units to interested parties?

Clock speed low? What, is a digital clock too good for Nintendo? They have to use an analog clock? Nintendo, for shame.

Yeah, it's just to save power consumption. Nintendo has always tried to save power consumption in their systems. Nothing new. Which I appreciate, because that lowers the electric bill each month, right?
