To be honest, the battery only occasionally is an issue for my gaming time, but I can see that issue growing bigger with monster hunter coming. I hated the bulky addon power juice pack, so I'm definitely interested in improving the internal battery without external changes. Weight, though, is important.
Oh and a cable isn't an option. I've got kids, a rabbit and a couch that definitely do not agree with cables hanging around my house. If the rabbit visits, kiss any nunchuk, classic controller or gamepad charger goodbye. Yes, even with lightning reflexes. Cost me 3 nunchucks and 2 classic controllers during the wii's lifetime lol

I used to have a rabbit too growing up. Until one day he nibbled through his last power cord. Now he's chewing through cables in heaven.
Finally it's releasing this month! My GamePad charger falls just short of reaching the end of my bed so I can never play comfortably when it needs charging. I feel like it spends more time on the charger than it actually gets played. Gotta import one of these.
more than doubling the GamePad battery life, I definitely see the point in this. I hope Nintendo release something along these lines, although it's annoying they went with the small, lowish capacity battery in the first place, weight and/or price considerations be damned
Or power usage?
This is not a handheld. It will always be near outlets and it can stay charged for up to 3 hours. If you game for longer than that, that's your problem. Aside from that, it's pointless.
so aside from the main point of it - people wanting to stay totally wireless for longer than 3 hours at a time, it's pointless. thanks for the lol.
@Gamesake, did the rabbit seriously get electrocuted to death? That's terrible! Now I'm worried about my cat chewing wires behind my TV
I'm going to wait for other people to buy the new battery first and see how reliable it is. I can't trust third party gaming products anymore because I've never been 100% satisfied with any of them!
I haven't bought any 3rd party accessories since GBA. Well, except screen protecters from Pelican for the DS and DS Lite before they were Rocketfish, and they make tons of officially licensed stuff for Nintendo now anyways.
3rd party hardware is completely out of the question. Headphones, adapters, and other random cables are ok though.
Out of all the 3rd party game accessory companies, Nyko is definitely the best, but I still wouldn't trust them with a lithium battery or system altering/enhancing products that are in direct contact with the main hardware.
