I've played a bunch of NSMBU on my Wii U user. When my little brother was going to play on his user all of my save data was there. Is it suppose to be like this? Aside from NL no other game is like this, and it's annoying. Now that we finally have users on our console i wantto keep our save files separete...

There is three different save slots in the game yes, but those are shared among all users on the console, including all of my progres in challenge mode. I don't want it to be like that. I want it so we have our own three save slots and challange progres on our own users.

Now the same thing has happened with Batman. When i started it up on my user my little brothers save file, who he had played on his user, was there.

Maybe it's a matter of if it was digital or physical (physical I can see why, but if it was digital IDK what to say)

I don't see how being digital or not would make a difference.

They are all physical. When i checked system settings, Batman only had shared save data and other games like Darksiders only had user save data. Mario had both. Does some game support user based save data and others don't?

Well a digital copy would be tied to a user (the one who bought it) while physical would be saved across the board

@HarmoKnight Why? If you buy a digital copy, then only one user has access to the game? Why would it not allow different users to have different save data? Why is a physical copy shared by everyone? That doesn't make any sense. Do you even know that that's how it works or are you just guessing?

@Xilef I know that has been confirmed to be the case. But I have no idea which games share save data and which ones don't. I would think it would say in the manual, but I don't know.

Is there no way to change that so games that share data doesn't share?

Have you checked the instruction manual? I don't think so, but you have official documentation.

Blame Nintendo for their half asses approach to user accounts, non transferable, no system wide stats. It's up to the dev's to put the feature in their games. Tell your bro to buy his own copy :P

You mean his own Wii U?

Oh would it still be the same with a different disc? I suppose it would. Well that's crap. Hope Nintendo sorts this out soon, they've had years to catch up but they've still blown it. All we get is "Miiverse" a completely useless poormans facebook full of crap drawings lol.

Dunno what kinda drawings you're seeing bro.

But on the save file issue, that's stupid. They said it would have saves by accounts on all games.

Apparently he's seeing crap ones.

They said that some games will be able to share data, which I always thought they meant that they would allow you access the same games files with multiple users, but there are also games that separate game files per user.

I don't think this is true. All evidence we've seen from Nintendo point to downloads being tied to the console, not the user. Isn't that part of the reason downloads are currently non-transferrable?
