Topic: Notch (Minecraft creator) makes a bad joke about the Wii U.

Even if it was a joke, why did he make fun of Nintendo? Why not Sony or Microsoft?

It wasn't much of a joke, though, was it? It read like a troll post. If he really wasn't trying to troll Nintendo faithfuls, then his joke landed incredibly poorly.

Cause it's not cool, man. You only get swag/mojo/respect around gaming-Internet for hating Nintendo. It's the cool thing to do.

Eh, I never cared for Minecraft personally... At least Nintendo's "Star Fox" for SNES has more polygons. (See? It's easy to mock games.)

I can take a joke sometimes, but when I see comments like this from supposedly "professional" game designers, it honestly makes me reconsider supporting their games. I mean, sure it was just a joke, and almost a compliment compared to all the nasty things EA's Bob Summerwill said about the WiiU. (At least the Minecraft creator implies he has a WiiU, and therefore "supports" it, even though it only has "3 games...")
But as said, it's kinda an insult to all the good games, and good developers, and indie-developers the WiiU has...

Further irony is, the WiiU has over 400 games now according to Wikipedia. More then the PS4 & X-Bone BOTH have.

I'm not saying we should get "up in arms" over the joke, that's not what's bugging me, but I really wish Nintendo could do something to shake this bias the entire game industry/fanbase has against them...
I hate how "cool" it is to always mock/bash Nintendo for whatever reason. "lol Nintendo has no games," "lol Nintendo games R 4 babies," and such... Yet, if you mock the other consoles, then you're an evil "Nintendo fanboy."
"Sega does what Nintendon't" was kinda cute at first, (and nowadays hilariously ironic) but now it's just old...

Wii U has more games because it's been out a whole year longer, why is this always a comeback with people then I also hear remarks like it's about quality not quantity from the same people, this was a lame joke that far to many people have overreacted to.

One theory is that Ninty were talking about meeting with him to bring Minecraft over to the Wii U & 3DS (there was an intresting comment made by Shigeru Miyamoto about how Minecraft isn't big in Japan whilst Ninty is so they could boost each other) and it went south possibly due to Ninty not being intrested in paying the costs for ports like Sony & Microsoft do.

This is basically like Blink-182 making fun of The Rolling Stones.
Sometimes I wish Miyamoto gets saké drunk, makes a twitter account and starts slagging all these one hit wonders.

I wouldn't be so annoyed about this if:
1) Notch actually made games that weren't Minecraft and... (ugh) CliffHorse
2) If Nintendo's recent advertising didn't prove how many awesome Wii U games already exist. It just sounds like a bit of a stupid thing to say, in my opinion...

Look at everyone getting defensive. Seriously guys; it's just a joke, and its just a console. Stop connecting yourself to the product just because you happen to own it. It isn't good for you emotionally or financially.
