Topic: No NBA 2k14 on Wii U

No NBA 2k14 on Wii U? WHY? NBA 2k13 was a descent port and I still enjoy playing it on Wii U!

I don't believe that 2k14 will be giant leap from 2k13 so why drop Wii U support then?

I really hoped that KONAMI and 2K would support Nintendo Wii U, what a shame. Nintendo has to do something about real sport games.

Or they can be lemmings and just jump off a cliff. I don't care anymore, if E3 doesnt blow me away, I'm selling my Wii U and getting a PS4. I mean damn, they can just port it from the PS360 version.

People buy these yearly remakes every year? What's so fantastic about the 2014 version that makes the 2013 version now valueless?

This all adds up to why Wii U could never be but a side console for me. Yeah, yeah, Ninty originals are heaven blessed and all that jazz, but there are, and will be third party titles I want that won't hit Wii U. I'm troubled by the upcoming consoles. I don't know, maybe I invest in PC and then a Wii U. All these new consoles are kind of depressing.

PS3 is getting all Sports games until 2015 (at least). Wii U should have them too (they don't have to be better... but should work e.g. NBA 2k13 on Wii U is not the best version but it works great)

I don't care I don't want crappy games on wii u anyway all I care about are first party games from Nintendo, monolith soft and other awesome companies not crappy 2ksports.

Of course we all want nintendo first party games, that's why i Bought Wii U console anyway. However, they should not abandon sports completely.

They're not abandoning sports, they have no control over what third parties do. Their only job is to make a profit which has generally meant getting people to buy consoles and making money from the consoles and the software sold. If you want to complain about someone here complain about EA ignoring the platform and buy their games when they do produce something on Wii U you like. That said EA doing something that people don't like shouldn't be news to anyone....

As I said in my first post here.... where's the loss? Frankly I couldn't care less about the next iteration of the same game that appeared only a few months ago. No new storyline, no new style, no massively new gameplay mechanics. A new iteration of the same game. If anything you should ignore my advice in the first paragraph and stop buying these games entirely. That action is sending a very bad message to companies like EA.

Dat third party support. You know its a problem when the PSP can get PES but you can't.

I'm guessing this confirms no GTAV Wii U for those who had hope.

Quality over quantity is all I have to say.

Monolith Soft's X is a third party game. I would rather have that single game than the entire Xbone/PS4 library.

Than you want Nintendo to fail. Also 2K is a quality game.

If Monolith = 1st party
2k = 3rd party

Who is 2nd party dev?
I think Nintendo does not have 2nd party developers

j/k

No it's not. Monolith Soft is owned by Nintendo, they are a 1st party developer.

I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up.

Quite the contrary. I want Nintendo to succeed, and I know they will because they aren't part of the commoditization-trend of today's gaming industry. We'll have to agree to disagree on yearly sport game iterations being quality games or not.

Actually the story the OP refers to is about neither. The "no sports" comment was about the E3 comment from a few weeks ago (that has since been contradicted) and the announcement by 2K that NBA 2K14 will only be for PS4/XBone and PS3/360.

A lot of overreach in these doom threads. The Wii U isn't breaking sales records by any means but the sky isn't falling either. Just calm down people.

As long as we still a basketball game al la last years one on the WiiU, it's kinda minor news. Because well you know how these yearly ones go.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

2K13 problably didnt sell that much (i mean if FIFA 13 sold bad, NBA 2K13 must have been a disaster)

I got NBA 2K13 though and its awesome. I dont buy more then one sports-game (in every sport, that is) in each generation so regarding NBA im all set. But would be great with a PES in the future. Or an ISS.
