In no way is the Wii U losing one of the last bits of major 3rd party support it enjoyed a good thing.

As sad as this is (and it is sad, the Wii U has the weakest 3rd party support of any Nintendo console barring the Virtual Boy) , I don't think there is much that Nintendo can do to reverse the 3rd party situation on Wii U. They can only hope to fix things for their next console. Until then, they need to put 1st and 2nd party teams at full throttle to give the Wii U owners a helluva ride. I don't really care about COD, give me more Splatoons.

Yup. There will be no FPS games (Battlefield, COD, Far Cry, etc), no sports games, no fighting games (aside for Smash Bros) no third person action/adventure games.....if all you own is a Wii U, you better love colourful platformers!!

yes.... that's why since the beginning of the week a ps4 is here in my living room... Ok saying no to this, no to that, but at the end I enjoy proper coop and competitive multiplayer here and there, some nice FPS and action adventure...

The delay (or even the cancellation) of Project Cars was my personal last nail in the "WiiU only" coffin...

So what if it does? Will that be a personal victory for you?

It will be a Victory for Nintendo, I think

Ya, it sure will! Splatoon will be outsold by COD 15:1, but Nintendo "wins" because their game got an 88% on Metacritic while COD only got 82%.

This is like saying Justin Bieber is the God of Music just because he sells more...sure this is a business...but quantity does not always equal quality. Most of the best victories in gaming IMO were ones that made the least ripples fiscally.

Though I do understand most people just want to be playing what everyone else is playing to fit in and that's considering "winning". Why do you think everyone buys every CoD even though the fans themselves agree maybe half of them are good.

In a way, Splatoon has won before even being released. Why? Because there haven't been 9+ nearly identical games released before it that take any of the surprise in gaming that probably all got us gaming in the first place.

I'm fairly sure all Beiber's music label cares about is that he sells millions of records, not that he produces something of great cultural value that sells nothing at all.

Do you think a movie studio would rather release a movie that crowds enjoy that makes $800 million worldwide, or a small independent film that wins an Oscar but only hauls in $45 million? Money determines everything in the entertainment world.

Damn, all the games i never planned to buy are not coming to Wii U. I'm devastated.

I was kind of interested, so I think it's a shame. Whether or not I'd be playing it much due to most other games coming out soon I wouldn't know.

If devil's third has got a great multiplayer online, I'll be playing that one anyways. In the meantime, all things toad, smash, bayonetta, even hyrule warriors should keep me busy as it is.

I doubt and gamy on the Wii U besides MK8 and SSB will have a great multiplayer online experience.

Wii U really doesn't have lasting communities for online games, as you said if it isn't MK or SSB it will die out in half a year or less maybe Splatoon will be an exception to the rule.

What about Monster Hunter? I thought that was still popular.

Except Black Ops 2 has the most constant online community I've ever seen on a Nintendo console. At Launch there were about 500 to maybe 700 users a day. Today? It's about the same if not more now? Ok so think about that, if Online Communities are supposed die out after a few months why didn't Black Ops 2 die out? At one point Black Ops 2 on WiiU had more people playing than Killzone Shadowfall, a Game that sold MILLIONS on the PS4. That shouldn't have happened.

Monster Hunter is another game that has a small faithful community behind it too. Of course I've seen it better on the Wii, but There's usually someone to play with on that game.

But I see what you're saying for the most part, Finding a game for Tekken, Assassin's Creed 3 or 4 can be hard to find.

@arronishere MH3U slipped my mind even though I've been playing it loads recently.
@LegatoSkyheart 500-700 hundred users isn't really that much MH3U is always pushing 1000 if not more.

Weird you guys mention the online numbers. When play black ops on my PS3, there are usually 20~30k people online whereas Ghost on the Wii U usually have 700~1.5k people online. However finding a match on the Wii U is much much much quicker than on the PS3. Weird huh?

Call of Duty is routinely a top selling game, isn't it?

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Plus we are finally seeing a new developer get a swing at the series, which is why I was interested in it

I only wish they could have considered making a Wii U exclusive "side-game". You know maybe something that makes good use of the Gamepad. Being an exclusive, it could push Wii U owners to buy it whilst multiplatform owners would possibly buy for another due to the chances of being better developed, not missing features and actually receiving all DLC.

Then again, they'd need to guarantee even more sales for a from the ground up game to make a profit. The question is would they?

You just summed up every multiplayer game that isn't megapopular explosion, like Halo, Call of Duty, LoL, WoW, SSB, Mario Kart, etc. Online communities in general don't last very long...

I bought MW, MW2, MW3 and both Black Ops for the 360 but was done after Black Ops 2 (so, so bad). Before moving abroad the only one I still owned was MW3. The core multiplayer gameplay was revolutionary at the time but has been constantly diluted to the point that most people hated it in the recent iterations. It's been done to death. Of my many gamer friends, none of us bought Ghosts and no-one is interested in Advanced Warfare.

It's become a franchise parents believe that their young children are interested in and end up buying for them at Gamestop/Game/etc. solely because of name recognition.
